This is a good standard hotel in a very central location. 0509 FR The building is traditional, in line with the surroundings. Hotel D'Este is located in the heart of Rome, within walking distance of all main tourist attractions.

A good budget hotel in a convenient

A good budget hotel in a convenient location. Within 5mins of Termini Station but beyond the sleazier streets and within walking distance of the Colliseum and Forum. 100 metres from St Maria Maggiore and Victor Emannuelle Metro. Large clean room with ensuite bath/shower in separate room. The Cold Buffet breakfast had a reasonable choice and you can fill up. Coffee etc came from a machine. Our room fronted the street and while not very busy car noise at night would be a problem for light sleepers. Lobby lacked facilities and staff were efficient but not terribly friendly. Good value for what we paid.

The lounge suit in the lobby was

The lounge suit in the lobby was very filthy so was the blanket and the bed cover, but the sheet was replaced every 2nd day and was clean. The day shift personel, Giovani, was extremely nice and very helpful. Wi-fi was free, but could only be accessed from the lobby. This hotel needs to be refurbished but still keep it's classic style otherwise I'll have to think twice before going there again.
