Good People Help
The staff was unfailingly polite and helpful. When my m-i-l fell ill and needed medical help, it was calmly handled. When I found myself stranded in Rome with a hospitalized elderly women, the staff arranged a new hotel within walking distance of the hospital, saw to it that the staff at this hotel spoke english and were aware of my situation, and the Manager wanted to make sure if I needed any help I was to call him. If not for a planned conference booking up during that weekend I would have stayed put. If mom hadn't been released in time to make the later flight I booked I would have gone back to the Delle. If you want a hotel that provides real service stay here, I know I will. It is withing walking distance of Vatican City, Metro, Bus ect ect. Try Vanni just down the street, gellato to die for, and real honest roman food, much of staff has some english and are patient while you fumble.

Reasonable Option
Once you get used to the location, which is about 5 mins walk from Lepanto metro stop it is quite handy. Vatican about 15 minutes away, but be prepared for long queues. I booked a trip round the Vatican gardens which were a curiosity more than a place of horticultural interest. One euro metro trip to the main sights, all great. Decent pizzeria near the hotel and a very lively place called Vannis which was gelateria, bar and seemingly a disco as well close by. All in all, pretty good.

Excellent Stay in Rome
We were staying for a few days in Rome on our honeymoon, and selected Hotel Delle Vittorie. It was far enough away from the major shopping or tourist centers that the surrounding stores were reasonably-priced, but near enough that we visited all of Rome's major attractions on foot. We greatly enjoyed the complimentary breakfast every morning and would then simply walk to explore Rome's excellence. A hotel with a mildly inconvenient location but that was an excellent value.

The Restaurant immediately outside the hotel is probably the best one within a fifteen minute walk. They have some of the best prices and wait staff, and THE best foot in the area.

Single traveler.
Nice but location is tough.
The single room was tiny but very efficient and worked fine for one person for one night. Biggest drawback was the area- really NOT close to anything. They also don't have a shuttle to airport, tho they say they do. The have a car service which costs 48 euro- which is fine and nice, but it's not a shuttle.

Time-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
Rome is wonderful, and exhausting. Being able to go back to your hotel, take your shoes off and put your feet up for a short snooze, is invaluable. But, that means you have to be willing to pay for a place that's centrally located, which this place isn't.
