Location not as advertised
First off - The location is advertised as a 15-20 minute walk from Vatican City/St. Peter's. It's more like 40-50 minute walk, and a long cab ride from all other major sights in Rome. Nearest metro stop is at least a 20-minute walk away, so we spent what we saved on this hotel on cab rides to and from different sights. Also, no wifi except in the lobby. Not a good value for a 4-star. Save your feet for exploring the parts of the city worth seeing (the neighborhood around this hotel is not scenic at all), and book somewhere closer to the central sights or a metro stop. It's worth the extra cost for a hotel closer to the action. On the plus side, the beds were extremely comfortable, the rooms were large.

Nice family hotel
Hotel was pretty good with good amenities and clean room. Our room had view of St.Peter's Bascilla from the balcony. The front-desk was okay, not very helpful in suggesting the directions. For anyone staying at this hotel, I highly recommend using the metro to visit attractions like colosseum, trevi fountain etc. We found that out on last day, its really easy if you know proper directions. Also buy a good map, the map supplied by the hotel is cut-off is not helpful

Our stay in Rome
We arrived by train at the Termini and bought a map. It took us 2 hours to find the hotel because it was not on the Rome bus/train map and we had to stop at an Internet station to find the location. We wanted to bus/train there because it was more affordable. Upon arrival we mentioned in a humourous way that it wasn't easy to find the hotel and the clerk had no comment (not even a smile). After checking-in he gave us the missing part of the map (a photocopied piece of paper) that we needed earlier without saying a word. He definitely was not friendly or courteous. Our room was clean but it appeared as though someone had a party in that room. The shower tub was dented and damaged and the comforter was ripped on the inside. Throughout the city Internet cost 0.50 cents to use the Internet for 15 minutes, at the hotel it would have cost us 25 euros to use the Internet, so we didn't. What we did enjoy was the swimming pool after our 2 hours trek to the hotel, the breakfast, and the free baggage hold for after check-out. The lady clerk the next morning was much more friendly than the man the day before. We would return only because we now know how to get there, but we wouldn't recommend it to first time visitors to Rome.

Time-saving tip:
Not Applicable
Taking the bus to the Ancient City, Navona Piazza, Vatican City, and via Corso shopping was the most convenient and practical. The bus goes directly to the sights and less walking is required from the hotel.

Better to stay away from the restaurants close to major attractions. Smaller out of the way places were MUCH better.

a remote hotel
The hotel is of good value. We had free breakfast included in the reservation. People were waiting in line for the breakfast after 8:30 am during our stay (the end of year, around christmas). Anyway, it is a little far from the metro. It is a 20 to 30 minute walk (with up and down a hill) from the nearest metro station. Taking bus 31 or 33 from cipro (the metro station near vantican museum) is much easier. We left our baggages there on the check-out day and gathered them later. It worked out great.
