Hotel Caravel is in Rome situated on the Via Cristoforo Colombo, strategically positioned between the historical city center and the international airport in Fiumicino. Only a few minutes away from major and most beautiful tourist attractions, like the archaeological area of the Circus Massimo, the Palatino, the Terme of Caracalla and the Catacombs. Fitted in a modern and comfortable style, it's comprised of all modern technologies, the Hotel Caravel unites needs for the working and entertainment situation; With it's Conference center, and it's closeness to the trade fair center, the Eur suburb in Rome with it's Congress Building and the PalaLottomatica site of concerts and sports events, it's also near the sporting complex of the Tre Fontane. The property offers bar, currency exchange, doctor on call, Internet access - wireless, laundry service, lift/ elevator, non smoking rooms and reception. Please note that for all arrivals starting 1st of January 2011 a city fee will be applied: 2 Euro per person per day. This fee is not included in the hotel rate and it's to be paid directly at the hotel.

Ok not great

A bit far from tourist attractions and metro train station Beds are typical European and small. Wi-fi free for only first half hour every day but the hotel description made me believe that Internet is free whole day New building and relatively large room. A quick 40 euro can ride from FCO

Très bonne prestation

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à l'hôtel Caravel très bien rénové avec un personnel souriant et efficace, une chambre et une salle de bain très propres et fonctionnelles. Le petit déjeuner était lui aussi à la hauteur avec un large choix. Le quartier populaire avec la Circonvallazione Ostienze offre de nombreux commerces et où se restaurer comme au très sympa Aristocampo.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Définitivement l'Aristocampo tenu par Edison Ndoja avec un accueil chaleureux et une formule buffet très compétitive et des pannini excellents.

Hôtel de grand standing, bien desservi

Nous avons bénéficié d'une offre promotionnelle, ce qui nous a permis d'avoir un 4 étoiles à Rome pour le prix d'un hôtel très quelconque. Excellente insonorisation : on peut donc très bien dormir, malgré la proximité d'un grand axe routier, très passant. Même le petit déjeuner, qui n’est pas le point fort des hôtels en Italie, était très correct : varié et à volonté. Qualité du service irréprochable, et personnel sympathique. Hôtel de plus bien desservi par le bus et/ou le métro, près de la gare d'Ostiense, à 20-30 minutes du centre ville ou du Vatican, en transport en commun. Seul bémol : le wifi payant (1,50 € la connexion)

Siisti ja vastaremontoitu hotelli

Siisti ja hyväkuntoinen hotelli vilkkaan tien varressa, mutta äänieristys oli hyvä. Keskustan ulkopuolella, mutta metropysäkki n. kilometrin päässä. Bussipysäkki kadun toisella puolella.

Wer Internet will sollte in ein anderes Hotel

Man hat ausreichend Platz in den Zimmern, es ist sauber und modern. Es gibt zwar 30 Minuten gratis Internet pro Tag, jedoch nur EIN Code pro Zimmer, auch wenn man zu zweit ist! Und dann muss man auch noch Glück haben, dass das WLAN tatsächlich funktioniert (bei uns nur an 2 von 7 Tagen!). Smartphone und Laptopnutzern ist dieses Hotel also absolut nicht zu empfehlen. Einer der Mitarbeiter ist absolut unhöflich, die anderen sind nett und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstücksbüffet ist ok aber nicht herausragend (ausreichend Auswahl, die Qualität lässt etwas zu wünschen übrig, so sind die Brötchen zB. immer hart, manchmal gab es sogar nur harte Brotscheiben, die Marmelade lässt sich nicht öffnen, ohne klebrige Finger zu bekommen usw., der O-Saft ist dafür Klasse). Wenn man nur ein Hotel zum Übernachten braucht und gut zu Fuss unterwegs ist, kann man hier durchaus übernachten. Sobald man aber zwischendurch nochmals ins Hotel kommen möchte für eine Siesta o.ä. wird es kompliziert, da es doch relativ weit ausserhalb liegt (per Bus erreichbar). Ich würde nächstes Mal lieber ein teureres Hotel nehmen, aber dafür eines, das im Stadtzentrum liegt und WLAN hat.
