Romantic City Break

Rome is an amazing city with so much exploring on offer and this hotel provided the icing on the cake for our 5 day romantic break away. Very attentive staff on arrival and throughout our stay. Room was average size, however the high ceiling made it feel very spacious. Large, comfortable bed and room service twice per day to ensure cleanliness and ample supplies. A 2 minute walk from the front door and you are facing the historical centre - Colosseum; Roman Forum and Paletine Hill, yet hidden on a lovely quiet street away from all the hustle and bustle of tourism. I could not recommend this hotel highly enough for both destination and cleanliness/comfort.

Great choice

I would definitely stay here again. I was there with my husband for 4 nights. It is at a great location. I loved waking up and being able to go out of the hotel and see the coliseum. You can't see it from the hotel but as soon as you walk one block you are able to see it. REALLY CLEAN, big rooms for european standards. Definitely a go back hotel.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Avoid the "110" tour bus. We were told to pay in cash (no receipt given) and later found we had been overcharged for a 48 hour pass. The buses are overcrowded, ageing (we saw several broken down) and in many the translation plug-in ear units did not work.

Ideal hotel for Rome

Don't bother looking anywhere else, this is the perfect hotel for Rome. Situated on a very quiet side street just a 5 min walk from the Colesseum and 10 mins max from the Colosseo Metro, makes it perfect for getting out and about but without the noise of the main city. Clean and comfortable. Staff are friendly and speak excellent English. My husband emailed the hotel before we left to mention it was going to be my 50th birthday whilst we were there and they had a chilled bottle of Prosecco for me on arrival which was a lovely touch. No restaurant but room service from 11am to midnight and snacks are provided in the small bar/lounge area. Beautiful rooftop terrace where you can enjoy drinks and/or breakfast. Breakfast is substantial with lots to choose. Can't think of a negative thing to say really. Will definitely go back there.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Visit the church of San Clemente just a 5 min walk from the hotel. An impressive church inside, with frescos depicting the life of St Catherine (as in the Catherine wheel firework) but the wow factor is the fact there are two floors beneath the church which can be accessed for €5 per person, well worth it. See frescos dating back to 4AD and walk the original streets of Rome dating back to 1AD. Remains of a Roman Villa still remain and you can here the rushing of water from the underground river. A tourist attraction easily missed but it shouldn't be.
