We would stay again!

We chose this hotel for the location and price. I looked at Trip Advisor before I selected it and it received really good reviews. It was really worth it. My husband and I were extremely happy with the service. The room was small but I knew it would be from TA. The main thing I liked was that it was really clean. We would definitely stay there again.

Loved this hotel!

The location was great, close to the train station (not as seedy as some reviews lead to believe) and we were able to walk to everything we wanted to see. The room was beautiful, but small by American standards, not a problem for us. The outdoor terraces were great, the breakfast was very good, and the staff was great. Would stay there again, it was a great value.

Great hotel for anyone traveling on a bu

This hotel was great, all employees went above and beyond best service at any European hotel ever! The rooms were small but all nicely maintained. Breakfast was simple but good, location was within a few minute walking to metro and bus stations, but a little away from all the herds of tourist, which for us was good, you'll get the chance to dine at places you wouldnt normally find. This hotel is great for anyone on a budget and if you don't mind staying a little bit off the beaten track.

Worst Hotel Roma

We booked "Best Hotel Roma" in December 2010 for our March trip to Italy based on pricing and reviews [...]. Thirty days before arriving we requested and received via email a confirmation for our night at "Best Hotel Roma", which was the last night of our 25 days in Italy. Upon arrival we were informed of a "problem"…there were no rooms in the hotel, so we were placed in a substandard room with a couch that converted to a bed in the property next door "owned by the hotel". When I complained about the room I was given the choice of another room in the basement of the same building, which was smelly and dark and also just had a fold out bed. I complained again and was told that I might have a room in a couple of hours…so we went to eat and then for a long walk only to return to same situation. The manager offered us dinner (but we had just eaten a late lunch) or transfer to the airport, which we took for compensation…all while we stood watching other guests being checked into their nice rooms in the main hotel. It seems that "Best Hotel Roma" does not know the definition of RESERVATION or CONFIRMATION but after 25 days on the road we took the airport transfer and stayed in the substandard room with the fold out bed, no TV, no hair dryer, no Wi-Fi, no trash can, a sink that would not drain and a shower that my wife refused to use, all while being serenaded by the street bums, traffic and the tram. Our last night in Rome was our worst night while staying at "Worst" Hotel Roma.

You know you're in Rome!

Upon arriving we were offered a basic city apartment in replacement of a hotel room due to a mechanical problem (it was clean but very sparsely set up); after 2 nights we spent the next 2 nights in a "real" hotel room which was plush, comforable, extremely clean, but the window faces a noisy street. The staff was cheerful & helpful, and the breakfast buffet was OK - location good for the price - easy walking to transportation, etc.

We tried the "Hop On - Hop Off" bus system that tours all over Rome - it was great! Inexpensive and so very convenient, plus you are "up close & personal" with all the famous Rome sites.

Nice on the surface...

The service was the biggest problem for us. The other couple we were staying with had a horrible experience with their room but our room was quite nice. Fairly spacious, very clean and modern. There's a nice outdoor patio area in the back. The staff was half good, half terrible. The terrible staff was mostly in the evening when simple requests like an extra blanket or a wake-up call was almost impossible and a very unfriendly experience. The location is a little scruffy and about 20 minutes walk from the main train station. The nearest metro is 10 minutes on foot. Not the best location for those reasons but fairly safe. Not an area for food or entertainment for sure. I would say that the value for the money is more or less right. I wouldn't, however stay here again for the incompetent service alone.

Overall Good Hotel

Hotel overall was clean and nice in design, the location was incorrectly advertised as close to the Colusseum, which is not really the case, even from the roof you cannot see the Colusseum.

Nice, remodeled, friendly, convenient

Good location, near Termini, about 1 km to front of station (note- side door is about half the distance). Nice market at the end of the street- we bought wine, cheese, fruit, crackers, etc. for nightly picnics. Close to Metro station. Rooms were clean, remodeled and comfortable. Air conditioner worked well. Safe in closet. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet is Italian continental.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Market at end of block- wine was as low as 1 euro per bottle- we ate breakfast at hotel, lunch out, then 8 of us would get food, wine and sodas at the market for an evening picnic on the covered patio of the hotel and discuss our day- great way to end a beautiful day in Rome!
