DON'T STAY HERE!!!
Hotel lobby was charming and smelled great. The staff immediately put a damper on that. After being ignored for several minutes, we finally had to ask the check-in person to please check us in. He knew we were there, but chose to busy himself with other things. Our room was small, which I can deal with, but it was a dull brown color, the painted walls had markings all over them, the view was a brick wall. It was like a small, dark cave. It reminded me of a Motel 6-like hotel room. We asked for something nicer - after much "eye-rolling" and rudeness, I finally decided that instead of being nice, I would have to to get angry with the guy in order to get service. After getting angry, we were told that a few "executive" rooms next door to the hotel were available, but they would cost $100 euro more per night. I asked to see the room. It was a very nice room with very nice amenities and a lovely view. We took this room. The internet didn't work - when we took the laptop to the front desk to inquire, another staff member very rudely told us "this is the password - if it does not work, then I don't know what to tell you." EVERY time I stopped by the front desk to ask a question, we were ignored. The ONLY nice, friendly face in this hotel is the guy who helped us move our luggage ([...], I think). He was lovely. This hotel does NOT make you feel welcome at all - and, this is a huge understatement. A customer should not have to get angry to get decent service.

Comfortable but nothing special
Pros: Great breakfast including scrambled eggs, fruits, croissants, yogurt, granola, bacon, etc. Room was large and spacious. Lobby was nice, comfortable sofas/chairs & board games. The location is awesome, we walked almost everywhere - so bring your walking shoes. Everything is fairly close, and there are some great restaurants/shops in the area. We walked to the Vatican, and it wasn't that bad - probably took us 20 minutes or so. The Pantheon is really close as well as the Spanish steps area/ great shopping nearby. Cons: Mini bar in room is fully stocked but not complimentary. Our room was one of the newer remodeled rooms but the temperature was too toasty for us. Almost stuffy, even with it being colder outside. The room could have been a little cleaner, and I don't think they ever changed our sheets the entire stay. We were there 4 nights. They did replace the towels though. The beds were not that comfortable...pretty much your standard rock hard Italian beds.

Time-saving tip:
Long walk from hotel
When you get to the collisium, don't wait in the huge line in front. Instead walk down to the Roman Forum entrance and buy your ticket there. We were able to bipass this huge line and walk right in to the collisium, and everyone was staring at us with envy as we walked on by. Save yourself hours!! :)

Great Location
This hotel is in a great location close to transportation. It is just a short walk to the Trevi Fountain, The Spanish Steps and The Pantheon. Great restaurants in the area. The hotel staff was great especially Giovanni, he was very patient and helpful with directions. He made my stay very pleasant. The buffet breakfast was quite adequate. I would stay at this hotel again, next time I am in Rome. The Adriano is a hotel worth recommending.
