Prati Hotel Naples

This was a family trip. The first room assigned to us had a broken a/c. However, the staff was accommodating that they move us to a nice comfortable room.

Please clean the bathrooms and dust was just all over the place. Traces of dust as if its been there for 10 years, even turned to thick.

This trip was for 3-nights in late June 2009. I am a retired military guy, a senior, and was traveling alone on this trip and using Naples (Italy) as a gateway to get to Capri and Ischia for a day each. I expected this low cost hotel (Prati, in Naples a three star, but maybe a two star elsewhere in northern Europe) to be in a wild and crazy area, but I didn't care. I knew that after full and active days ferrying out to the islands, jostling with the tourists in which group I place myself, hiking in the sun and then ferrying back at 6PM, all I needed from a hotel was a halfway decent bed and an acceptable bathroom and shower, which the Hotel Prati provided. Also the Prati is only two blocks from the main Naples train station, also next to a MAIN bus stop and across the street from a fairly priced restaurant for a quiet late pasta meal after lots of running around. The hotel staff was adequate. Friendly, but just that. But the old timer who cleaned up the rooms on my floor (4th) did a great job and my room was "sparkling" as I returned each day, clean towels, all you might expect. I went out of my way to give him a tip and I am not always inspired to do this. If you want a first class hotel room in Naples you might have to go all the way up to five stars -- and it'll cost you. But if you've been around, or you are either young or older and tough like I am, and a crazy, dirty and noisy city center doesn't bother you, and you like saving money when all you need is a bed and not a lot of pretense, then the Prati is OK. Also: there is a good, cheap internet spot (very fast and smooth download) up the street run by a Bangladeshi (sp) (the Prati internet IS NOT to be counted upon). Also, no matter the internet hotel info, the hotel has closed its restaurant, but does use the venue for breakfast which is minimal: a roll, a little jam, coffee and some unidentifiable juice. But it's a nice rooftop location and in the early morning air a great place for waking up with coffee and a roll. CAVEAT: there are LOTS of three star hotels in this vicinity! A 3-star Best Western is just 50 meters away. I chose the Prati for its best price for my specific timeframe. I can only recommend the Prati considering all the above. I have friends who would never stay here. My wife would not stay here! But when I am alone I try to travel on the cheap. I could care less. But even though I am easy to please and have been in many rough locations on several continents I would almost assuredly NEVER go below "three stars" in the center of Naples. If I were to return to Naples for another jaunt, and I plan to, I would not go back to the Prati, I would try another three star hotel for the new experience. If my wife were to come I'd probably have to jump up to four stars at a minimum.

Although good value for money and friendly staff I keep wandering about the star ratings?

Wir benutzen das PRATI nun schon seit ein paar Jahren regelmäßig um Neapel und die Umgebung zu erkunden. Die Lage vom Hotel (mitten im Stadtzentrum, unweit vom Bahnhof) ist dafür genial. Die Ausstattung vom Hotel ist zwar schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber das Personal tut alles um dem Gast einen angenehmen Aufenthalt zu bereiten. Der weltfreundlichste Mensch an der Rezeption ist Marco - er ist immer gut drauf und extrem hilfsbereit. Wem der Großstadtlärm vom Zentrum Neapel nichts ausmacht wird hier zufrieden sein. Das Frühstück ist typisch italienisch, aber es reicht trotzdem aus um einen guten Start in den Tag zu haben.

Nettes Touristenklasse Hotel mitten in Neapel. Nur 3 Minuten Fussweg zum Hauptbahnhof und damit klasse Verkehrsanbindung zu allem was Neapel zu bieten hat. Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, Zimmer sauber. Das Hotel ist in einer sehr lauten Umgebung, also nichts für Lärmempfindliche.... ansonsten alles ok - wenn wir mal wieder eine Nacht vor oder nach dem Urlaub auf Ischia oder Capri übernachten müssen dann bestimmt wieder hier.

Sarebbe necessario il rifacimento della tappezzeria, alquanto consunta. Per il resto, accoglienza cordiale del personale, disponibile ed efficiente.

C'est un hôtel très bien situé, mais il est censé d'être une 3 étoiles et il est loin de l'être!!! on a dû changer 2 fois de chambre tellement elles étaient sales (tapisseries très vieilles, rideaux et murs sales, ainsi que la salle de bain et les tapis!!) Le "petit déjeuner" laisse beaucoup à désirer. Un de personnel de l'accueil particulièrement agréable ainsi qu'un des serveurs, un autre serveur fait vraiment sale, vêtements et cuisine à ne pas regarder de près.

Il avait une odeur de moisi. La toilette sentait les oeufs pourris. La chambre semblait propre mais n'était pas en bonne état.

Was ist für ein Hotel besser als Gäste die immer wieder kommen? Wir waren nun schon ein paar Mal im Hotel Prati und immer allerbestens zufrieden. Wenn Neapel mal wieder auf dem Programm steht, werden wir wieder im Prati übernachten.
