I've seen three rooms in this

I've seen three rooms in this hotel and only one of them was okay. There were mildew and moisture stains on the wall that gave a horrible smell (room 21 and 50). Don't expect to much from the receptionists, some of them weren't even polite. But the location is perfect. There is a excellent bakery and coffeeplace around the corner and off course a lot of objects of interest.

I have stayed at Hotel Rio for

I have stayed at Hotel Rio for the second time - first time in 2006 - nothing has changed since than... it has a superb location, its old building and old everything... but safe-clean-basic breakfast. If I go to Milan I will stay there again. The trick is not to expect much.

Location is excellent and the

Location is excellent and the price was on the same level as it would have been several kilometers away from Duomo. Bathroom was almost as big as the room. Even though our windows were facing the street, there wasn't any distracting noise. Breakfast was very simple, only croissants and sweets, but coffee was good.

I would rate Hotel Rio as 2 *.

I would rate Hotel Rio as 2 *. Location is fantastic. 12 mins from Central Railway then 3 mins walk from Metro Duomo. It was a tiny single room but comfortable. If they would only go to Ikea and by some new curtains! Old dusty ones ruined the atmosphere in the room.

Walk around the streets close to the cathedral. There are a lot of shops, restaurants, etc.

Loud but convenient

The location is amazing, the rooms are small but clean. The bed of my room was only a few feet above to top of the tram that stopped outside my window! Bring earplugs! The breakfast is very meager. It is right around the corner from the Duomo though.

Super location

The hotel is half a block off the Duomo square. When you get off the subway and are looking at the front of the duomo the street of the hotel is at the lower right corner of the square in front of the Duomo The breakfast is very basic croisant juice and coffee. The elevator is slow but there is one. I stayed on the fifth floor. I ran down the stairs instead of waiting for the elevator, but waited for it to go up the stairs. Sunday morning I had no hot water for my shower but there was hot water on Monday.
