If you need to be near Milan Central Station, this is a good location. Otherwise, the area is seedy. Rooms are good size and clean. However, they are not very modern (ie, they only ONE outlet to plug in things on the desk).

Great hotel!

Would recommend Mon, May 31, 2010
As a single traveler, I got the smallest room that was available, a single bed. I figured it would be a little cubbyhole of a room with a tiny bath. Boy, was I ever wrong. The bed was definitely for a single traveler, but I was amazed at how spacious the room was. It was very well appointed and included slippers and a robe. There was a FREE refrigerator that was stocked, a desk, a TV with table, and a sitting table. This was a BIG room. The bathroom was ceramic and granite, with a jacuzzi tub and a bidet. Service was fabulous--tried the room service, a mite pricy but very quick. Free breakfast...honestly, I couldn't have asked for more. All in all, a wonderful hotel with very helpful, professional staff who spoke english.

Time saver

The location is right next to the Centrale rail station. Leave to the left, cross where the taxis are standing and cross the street. Very close. The airport train brings you into the Cordona (?) rail station...not sure of the spelling, but it's the WRONG rail station, and you have to take metro to the correct stop. However, if you take the bus trip from the Milan airport, you will go to Centrale, and this is exactly where you want to be.

Great Hotel, friendly, comfortable, luxury rooms, and right to the side of the main train/underground station. At the price, it was a real deal.

Good Stay

Would recommend Wed, Feb 10, 2010
We picked this hotel because of its proximity to the Milano Centrale train station. This was a good decision - it is directly across the street and is very convenient. There is a metro located at the train station, allowing easy access throughout the city. Our room was the cheapest available at appx $130/ night, but it was more than adequate. Comfortable beds, quiet, clean, etc. The shower was a little small by American standards, but perfectly acceptable.

Great location with helpful staff

Would recommend Thu, Dec 24, 2009
Spent the last few days of our trip (combination business/pleasure) to Italy there before flying out. The Michelangelo had been recommended by a business friend and met our expectations. It is in a great location...close to the train station, metro, and airport transportation. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was excellent, but the hotel restaurant was barely adequate, compared to our other meals in Italy. We will, without question, stay in this hotel again when in Milan.

Attractions

We would recommend buying an inexpensive 24 hour Metro pass. It's an easy way to get to any part of the city for sightseeing and shopping.

clean and convenient + free b-fast!

Great access to Milan's Central Train Station as well as bus connections to Malpensa airport. Both literally across the street! Room rates include breakfast buffet which is huge - enjoy watching the machine squeeze your own glass of orange juice. And superb restaurant across the street - Gillio Rosso, which I never miss eating at. For frequent travelers to Milan, this hotel is great.

Dining

Gillio Rosso restaraunt - great food and cruvinet for fine wines by the glass!

Good choice in Milan

Would recommend Fri, Jul 24, 2009
Four of us (two couples) enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Michelangelo. The location is outstanding--directly across the street from one of the main train stations and about 100 meters from a main Metro stop. We used the easy to navigate Metro to get everywhere in the city. The rooms are clean, but the decor is ready for an update. The breakfast was superb. All in all a very good deal for the money.

Perfect hotel for first timers in Milan

Would recommend Fri, Jul 24, 2009
This hotel was perfect for our short tourist stay in Venice. It is located across the street from Central Station. All most all Air and Train travel into Milan has to go through Central Station. A couple of Euros get you a whole day pass on the Milan metro. The hotel itself was only slightly above average but the location, front desk service, and complimentary breakfast made the stay not only enjoyable but one I would recommend to friends and family. - Majority of historical sites are not within walking distance of the hotel, do not stay here if you are not comfortable taking the Metro.

Attractions

If you plan on seeing "The Last Supper" painting please book it through a tour company before arriving in Milan. Walk up viewings are hard to come by.
