Very good location, in proximity
Very good location, in proximity to Principe Station. However, room was a little petite - which should have been explained at booking time. Suggestion for improvement: Provide shuttle service from airport. We arrived around midnight (due to airline delay). The bus service was not available. The taxi charge was high, for the relatively short distance.

Great hotel and deserves its 5
Great hotel and deserves its 5 stars in Italy. We only stayed a night in transit before a cruise. Our room was small but luxurious complete with bath, robes, etc. Breakfast was excellent considering they were catering to so many people. Staff were helpful. Ideal for business travellers and/or a base before or after a cruise (most Italian ships depart from Port of Genoa). Recommended.

Beautiful, quaint, 5 star hotel
This is a beautiful hotel located within walking distance of the train station and the port. We stayed overnight while awaiting a cruise departing from the port which is a 5 minute cab ride away. The room had a king size bed with a sofa bed which our 14 year old daughter slept in very comfortably. The floor to ceiling windows were equipped with electronic shutters outside to keep out the street lights from the room. The room was very roomy and well equipped. The hotel provided complimentary bottled water. Breakfast was included in our rate and the restaurant was located on the top floor with a balcony that wrapped around and offered great views of the port and city. In addition there is a side trattoria that offers great lunch. It was a great stay and I would highly recommend this hotel

Amazing Hotel
This hotel is amazing! The rooms a clean comfortable and have the most character than i have ever experienced in a hotel to date. There is an amazing restaurant on the 7th floor with the most delicious food and an unbeatable view. It is also ideally located to the train station and you can't hear it we stayed on the first floor. We would definitely return to this hotel and hope to sometime in the near future.

Grand not just in title
the beautiful hotel is but steps away from the main Genoa train station. It appears that the hotel was recently renovated and they managed to modernize with any loss of a "grand hotel" tradition.

Best breakfast view in town
Great hotel just steps from the train station with an incredible breakfast where you can sit on the rooftop (7th) fl. overlooking the city. Made to order eggs, omelets as well as a great selection of fruits, granola and yogurt toppings. Bed had excellent sheets and ranked up there with the best beds I've had anywhere. Location is a bit gritty towards the train station area, but Genoa is sort of a gritty city. 10 min walk to the aquarium and seafront area. Good value restaurant trattoria adjacent as well as other nearby pizza style restaurants.

Dining tip:
Long walk from hotel
Mario Batali has an Eataly nearby at the seafront area, about a 10-15 minute walk. If you have never been to Eataly NY, this one is a fine version that is quite the place to have anything from a excellent sit down dinner to a selection of quicker, but still high quality eats.

What a pleasant surprise!
This was our first visit to Genoa and we were so pleasantly surprised by both the city of Genoa and even more so by the Hotel Savoia. We arrived by train which made the savoia's location ideal as it is literally across the street from Principi Station. The staff was courteous and professional and very helpful with maps and suggestions of where to visit and see. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the Rolli palaces, Plazzao Reale, the port, Christopher Colimbus house , the Duomo. The Hotel was beautifully appointed with a very lovely sitting area and bar an in house restaurant and an excellent trattoria next door. The breakfast was sumptuous with a selection of anything you can possibly want set within a beautifully decorated dining room. Our room was very comfortable with excellent amenities We truly enjoyed our three days in Genoa and the Grand hotel Savoia!

Sightseeing tip:
Short walk from hotel
Genoa is a city which is on the coast but also spreads into the surrounding mountains. We walked to one of the many elevators or funiculars in the city up to the Spianatta casteletto. This a terrace set high up in the city with a beautiful view not to be missed. It is also set in the more luxurious neighborhoods of Genoa.

two nite stay
We stayed two nites. the location is great because of its proximity to the train station .The staff were polite and courteous, but failed to give us the requested wake up call the morning . We almost missed our early flight. We asked them twice. (We had an alarm clock which broke on the trip)!. Our room rate included breakfast. They have promised to set up a light breakfast for us that AM..but..there was nothing..(we would not had the time anyway because of the missed wake up call. We just had to rush out of the hotel. Other than that it was a comfortable stay.
