Tornabuoni Suites Florence

We arrived in Florence to what I thought was a convenient location initially for accomodations. We arrive at 9 Tornabouni as the address was listed on my [...]confirmation record. We went up stairs and there was not even a sign. I went back downstairs and was told that the porter would be back in 15 minutes. When the porter came back he called the reception people and they told him to send us to their other location across the bridge..I was on a wild goose chace with my baby. Once we arrived to the location we were told that the other location were the suites were initially located was under new management. We checked into our room. As I was unpacking my 21 month old child proceeded to walk out the door. I bolted out to look for him luckily he was safe as there was a flight of stairs he could have fell down..then I lock the door on the inside and I turned my back and he was out the door again. The management told me the door locked from the outside. I told them I could not stay and wanted an immediate refund because of safety concerns for my young son. They said "they had called there boss and they had a place for us at the original location two doors down 15 Tornabouni and that there was someone waiting there for us. This after they told me the original site was nder new management. So I tracked my son across the bridge again to find their was no one and had to ask the porter to call for the person to meet me. Finally she arrived..she was very very nice and apologetic. In the end the gave me a very nice apartment. We enjoyed ourselves at the end. It was a lot of trouble to go through with a small toddler. Modern suite rooms with Euro-modern decor, which is untypical of Florence. Most of the time, there was no one at the front desk. You need to make your own return transportation arrangement beforehand as one one will be there to help.

This is a great place to stay if you know the city, it is like renting a very comfortable apartment on one of the best streets in the city. This would not attract people who want a concierge or room service as they are not really available. For me it was perfect!

We made our reservation at the Tournaboni Suites but ended up staying at the Ponte Vecchio Suites, as the hotel manager gave us an option to see both hotels/rooms when we arrived. The Tournaboni is in a beautiful historic building in Florence and is located on the same street as all of the upscale shops (Bvlgari, Gucci, etc). While we absolutely loved the beautifully-appointed room, we chose to stay at the Ponte Vecchio Suites because it was closer to Ponte Vecchio and the A/C worked better in that room. The Ponte Vecchio Suites is a new, more contemporary boutique hotel with about 7 rooms. Despite its modern feel, it's still very warm and inviting. The room, the service, the hotel manager, the cleanliness, comfort, location, etc. was fantastic and the room is actually quite big with a combined living/dining room area and small kitchenette. The bathroom is a bit small with a standing shower only but it's perfect. Ponte Vecchio is a very short walk from the hotel and all other major sites in Florence are easily accessible. We could not be happier with our stay and our overall experience in Florence. The hotel manager, [...], was terrific and so attentive to our needs. She helped research scooter rentals and was willing to do anything to make our stay memorable. We would recommend this hotel (as well as the Tournaboni Suites) to anyone - you'll enjoy it!

Great hotel: spacious, clean, modern, and quiet. Walking ditance to anything in Florence and very great receptionist, [...], who helped us out so much during out stay (including actually finding the hotel). The only problem was Orbitz provided us the wrong address. We ended up at the corporate mail drop of the hotel and spent a few hours before locating the actual hotel. That coupled with lugging around 4 huge pieces of luggage and after a long morning of train travel made it a huge headache. Orbitz- please fix the address situation!

posizione eccezionale accanto a Prada e nel cuore della parte piu elegante di Firenze. Ricordarsi che il garage costa e non poco se si arriva con la macchina. favoloso per un soggiorno romantico.
