The President Hotel is a classic style hotel with modern technology and every comfort. It's an ancient palace of 1869 restored and turned into a hotel in 1986, located near Piazza della Libert on so-called avenues of Florence, absolutely close to the historic city center and to the congress site of Fortezza da Basso, Palazzo dei Congressi and Palazzo degli Affari. The cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore is just a ten minute walk away and the central train station Santa Maria Novella is only 3 kms far or 10 minutes by car. It has 56 rooms, American Bar and a private parking area. The bright restaurant serves rich buffet breakfast every morning. The bar is the pleasant meeting place to relax and enjoy nice drinks and tasty snacks. WI-FI internet access with wireless system+ HOW TO REACH US: BY CAR: HIGHWAY A/1, exit FIRENZE/IMPRUNETA Towards the center, cross the Arno River through Ponte alla Vittoria, continue straight until Piazza della Libert. Then turn left onto Via Don Minzoni, at the end take Viale dei Mille on your right, turn left at the first traffic light and at the end of the road turn right and then left again. the IDEAL Florence Hotel for me

After spending the week in the country I was bummed to have to spend my last night in Florence, but this hotel was wonderful!!! It is located in the PERFECT neighborhood with a non-tourest scene, close enought to city central to drive if you wanted to, but also walking distance to a Coop (grocery store), restarunts and other neighborhood stores. The view was great and the courtyard my room overlooked was even more perfect. 20 min from the airport, Wi-Fi for 2 Euros for 20 min. Best price of all the hotels. Very safe area. Minus: refrigerator was tricky to close and a few mosquitos came in the room. Overall loved it.

NOT a 4 Star Hotel by any criteria set

Upon our arrival we were told that the hotel had reservations only for my son and two children. They claimed that we had cancelled the reservations for my room and my sister's room. We had to stay at another hotel for a night and then checked back into the President Hotel the next day. Although most of the staff did their best to accomodate us, this place needs a ton of structural work. It must have been a great place at one time - in the distant past. No restaurant, no laundry/dry cleaning service, and the "bar" was about 6' long and serviced by the person handling the front desk.

Everything is a healthy hike - nearest decent restaurant was approximately 8 blocks away with an uphill return.

THIS IS NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL AS ADVERTISED

THIS WAS DISAPPOINTING AS WE PAID FOR A 4 STAR HOTEL AND GOT A 2-3 STAR...THE PICTURES ARE NOT LIKE THE HOTEL AT ALL AND WE WERE DISAPPOINTED. WOULD LIKE AN EXPLANNATION ON HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN? NO CARPETS, EXTREMELY OLD TV, VERY OLD ELEVATORS, UNCOMFORTABLE BED,TWO TWIN BEDS INSTEAD OF A FULL SIZE BED, VERY SMALL SHOWER WHICH YOU CAN BARELY MOVE, ETC.....

4 days in Florence

Our room had a terrific view and the staff was very helpful in describing how to get around town and where to find great food.

Good place to stay!

Good breakfast! We like to walk, so we didn't care it was a little far. Friendly staff so overall we had a good experience.
