The Hotel Palazzo Vecchio is ideally located in a small - quiet street just a few steps from the famous Square of Santa Maria Novella. It is less than 100 meters from the central station Santa Maria Novella and the traditional market of San Lorenzo - making it wonderfully convenient for business and leisure guests alike. The hotel was built in 1920 in a typical Florentine architectural style. All the rooms were renovated in 2006 and offer a warm decor - modern and carefully chosen furnishings and all the comforts needed to make your stay pleasant - these include en suite facilities - satellite TV and direct dial phone. Guests enter the hotel through a courtyard and up 4 steps to the reception which features grey marbled stone flooring and wood paneled walls. The breakfast room located in the basement is a bright and spacious room with pearl colored ceramic tiles and a green marble bar and offers a buffet continental breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30 am daily. There is also a small bar and lounge area for guests to relax in. Amenities are Airport transfer 60€, baby sitting service 30€, bar, concierge, disabled facilities, doctor on call 100 € on call, dry cleaning, internet access- high speed 5€, internet access - wireless 5€, laundry service, lift/ elevator, non smoking rooms, parking facilities- at cost18-23€, pets allowed, reception, restaurant, room service and safe deposit box.

GREAT location! POOR everything else!

First impression from outside the hotel... SPECTACULAR!!! The lobby & front desk was beautiful! That's about where is stopped. Our room was on the 4th floor with an elevator that only goes to the 3rd. Walking in the room it was more of a glorified attic with a bathroom. The ceilings were LOW. I banged my head on the bathroom celing & the ceiling on my side of the bed (I'm only 6 feet tall). If the room (including bathroom) was 250 sq ft I would be surprised. The "view" they show on their web site & on here is nowhere NEAR what we had. The only view we had could only be seen if you were 6 foot 5 inches tall. I had to hold the camera over my head to take a picture of the hills that were 3 miles away. One morining at 7:00 my wife tried to take a shower but there was NO hot water. I called shortly after that & all they told me was "Turn the hot water on and wait a minute" so after an hour of waiting with the sink AND the shower on hot, we gave up & took a cold shower so we could start our day. When we returned at 9:00 P.M., we STILL had no hot water. I asked for another room but was given a room on the 1st floor to shower ONLY in. The next morning we had NO water for 2 hours. Here are the things I can say were good about this hotel, the free breakfast was worth EVERY penny we paid for it (FREE), VERY centrally located (within 20 minutes of everything we wanted to see) & close to the train station (2 min walk)!! We will NEVER go back to this hotel & will NEVER recommend this hotel to ANYONE unless they are under 5 feet 5 inches tall that likes rude hotel staff & does't mind a cold (or NO shower) once in a while!

There were at least a dozen attractions within 20 minute walk from the hotel & PLENTY of fine dinning close

Quick trip to Florence

Hotel was perfect for our needs. We had four students staying in a quad with a double and two twins. It was near the train station which was very convenient. Staff was nice and room was great. It even included breakfast!
