An elegant privately owned boutique Hotel, in the center of Florence near the station, welcomes the guests to the renaissance palace Medici dal Borgo, one of Florence's historic monuments Palazzo dal Borgo. History, art and warm ambience combine with the great tradition of florentine friendly hospitality to make the stay unforgettable. Converted from the 15th century building Palazzo Medici dal Borgo, the Hotel Aprile is located in the heart of Florence, within sight of the church of Santa Maria Novella. Each of the 34 rooms is tastefully furnished with great attention to detail. Some have romantic four poster beds, some frescoed ceilings, some a breathtaking view of Santa Maria Novella Church and hills surrounding Florence. All rooms have modern bathrooms fitted in marble. All our rooms are well appointed to guarantee our guest's comfort and to suit every necessity, Complimentary tea, infusions, coffee and biscuits are available in each room and will be replaced daily.

Best Borgo in the city

If you are visiting Florence and want excellent location to train station, all the main attractions, and daily tours this is the hotel you are looking for. The rooms are spacious, bells from Santa Maria Novella are your morning wake up call, and the breakfast is filling and delicious. There is a restaurant one block from the hotel highlighted in Lonely Planet that is perfect for dinner (Joyce, one of the hotel staff can give you directions). We had an excellent experience at this hotel.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

This hotel is equidistant to every tourist attraction in Florence. You can easily return to the hotel after a morning outing and freshen up for an afternoon of sight seeing. It is perfect to get to and from the train station and the tour buses to see Tuscany and Chianti.

Great hotel, price & location

Loved the hotel staff, nice clean room with comfortable bed and spa tub, terrific breakfast buffet, walking distance to attraction, & close to public transportation. Would stay there again in a heart beat.

Not the best; not the worst

This hotel definitely had an old world 'pension' feel to it, and the staff was friendly enough. Just be wary that a double room means two twin beds pushed together with a crack in the middle, not a true king sized bed. I thought that the breakfast was ok, but the bar never seemed open, and there was no restaurant in the hotel. There seemed to always be someone at the front desk, which was comforting since it is off of a busy street. Street noise is not so bad if you are on a higher floor, but on one of the lower floors it might be a problem. Bathroom was nice and water pressure was good. It's moderately priced especially if you can get a good deal on a search site, but I think you could get a better place for the same or less money. I would recommend this to a friend if they wanted somewhere to stay I had already been, but if we were to return to Florence we would look at a different hotel.

heureusement Florence vaut le coup

Chambre au 3e étage donnant sur la via della Scala très bruyante la nuit : Boules Quiès conseillées. Le wifi ne fonctionnait pas au 3e et malgré l'avoir signalé, aucune connexion durant les 5 jours : Halte au rez de chaussée obligatoire. Café du petit déjeuner à éviter...préférez le thé, le capuccino, le jus de fruit ou rien! Mais bon emplacement de l'hotel par rapport au centre ville et la gare. Heurement Florence et Pise, ça vaut le déplacement.
