Ottaviani Hotel Florence

We weren't expecting much from this hotel when we booked it, but we were very pleasently surprised. The furniture in the room was basic, but perfectly adequate, and the bed was surprisingly comfortable after all of the rock hard matresses we'd been sleeping on for the past couple of weeks. The room was bright and reasonably spacious, and the other guests were quiet. The bathroom is shared, though it's kept pretty clean. Only annoying thing was that the shower was right next to the toilet, so the floor could be wet. The staff was friendly and helpful, and breakfast was very basic, but satisfying. The hotel is less than five minutes' walk from both the train station and the Duomo, so very good location!

This hotel is in a perfect location, right downtown and a 5-minute walk from the train station. It's in the center of all the shopping, dining, and tourist attractions. It's a quaint hotel...a bit rustic but perfect for a one-night stay. Our room had French doors that opened to a private patio. That was quite nice, but there's no air conditioning and the room fills with mosquitos at night. So we had to sleep with the light on to keep the mosquitos on the ceiling. Take mosquito spray so you can sleep with the windows open! It's shared private bathrooms, but there was no problem to get the bathroom when I needed it. The owner is a very lovely lady...extremely attentive, friendly, and accomodating. Free wireless internet in the room. A delicious home-cooked breakfast.

The staff was friendly. Our triple had a sink and shower, but we had to use the hall toilet. The beds were very springy. Very close to the major attractions in Florence. Not at all elegant, but very convenient and inexpensive. Great for backpackers.

Hotel location is realy great, but it's not a hotel, it's a pension of 1 star and not the 2 stated in summary for hotel.

This is actually not a real hotel. It just provide you a place to sleep in the evening. The facility is just basic, old bed, cheap tower, share bathroom, and a few pieces of bread for breakfast. The coffee is so horrible that we can't drink it. We stayed two nights here. The first night we could hardly sleep as you can hear people talking and laughing outside of the window all night long. There is a bar on the same street. Close to the morning those people went back home but then you can hear motorcycle shouting every a few minutes. For the second night we tried to change to another hotel but we had tight schedule that we just didn't have time to find another one within our budget... I would definitely not stay in this hotel any more

I liked the the fact that I could walk to & from the train station with ease.

Staffs at the hotel can speak English and Italian perfectly!and knows where about to visit and how etc

It was a great location, not far from main train station and walking distance to sightseeing. The staff was great and very pleasant

hotel minable ! la proprété laisse a désirer , le petit déjeuner est nul , café infecte , rien de frais ! impossible de dormir la nuit coté rue tellement la fenètre est vétuste ! le seul point positif est sa situation !
