Montreal Hotel Florence

I had a good experience overall at the hotel. The room was small but I was traveling alone on vacation. The bathroom was nice in the room and the room had a flat-screen tv and all the usual amenities. The bed could have been a little more comfortable and was a little hard and pillows could have been thicker/fluffier but I didn't come to florence to do alot of sleeping. :) The guy at the hotel did help me out by calling a cab for me the previous night to come early the next morning as I had a very early flight and needed to leave the hotel at 5am. The thing I didn't like was it said on the hotel website that "breakfast was included in the rates" but they charged me 32 euros ($43) upon checkout for the breakfast I had while I was there. I told them the website said it was included but I still had to pay. If I had known that I would have ate at the nice cafe on the corner cause they had nicer choices. That was an expense I didn't expect that kind of left a sour taste in my mouth.

The hotel is located near the Firenze SMN stazione. Initially I checked the location by Google map but later we found out that the indication was totally wrong !! ends up we spent a hour to find the hotel. It is acutally located 5 minutes from the station. So it's very near. But better double check the map before you go. The room was small and bed was not so nice. The shower room was very small too. Overall it was not so bad because of the cheap rate and the location.

A small single room, essential but very well kept, in a really good position at a good price. I recommend this hotel.

Good location close to the railway station. Relatively easy to navigate to the Duomo and the Uffizi Gallery. Breakfast was decent and the wifi in the room was a plus to the overall package. Good value.

Free wireless Internet if you ask for password daily! Amazing location! Only problem was the poor a/c (at least in May)... I'd definitely stay here again though!!

I booked my hotel directly from [...] and it specifically said for Hotel Montreal. However when I arrived to the check-in desk, the staff told me my room was at their partnering hotel called Hotel Elite. It was about 20 buildings down. It was upsetting because it felt a little shady that they would put in a different hotel. But I was too tired to argue. So I went there. When I first said Hotel Elite, it was very very sketching. The entrance is a dark hallway and there was a dark staircase that I had to take. When I walked into the doors of the hotel, it actually turned out to be very nice. It was clean and quiet. The staff was very friendly. I booked a single and was expecting a small twin size bed but to my surprise, my bed was king sized. There was a little shower in the corner of the room and a little sink. The room was clean, the bed was clean, the shower was clean, the sink was clean. I slept very well so well that I did not want to get up! Overall it was perfect for a short stay.

We found the hotel easily because of its location in city centre. However, we were told that they have booked us in a sister hotel (Etoile). That was not a hotel but a pension. There was no receptionist or any service whatsoever, we were given keys. Anyway we moved to the pension, first night the AC worked find. Then second day, after room service, AC started switching off after 2 minutes. We called reception which was totally uphelpful. The temp. was above 30 and we had to keep our window open to be able to get some sleeep. Next day when we wanted to leave the luggage, basically we were asked to put it in the gallary (without any security and at our risk), so we preferred to leave it at Station and pay for it. Overall experience was awful and would highly suggest anyone to not book this hotel.

The rooms were good, clean and very spacious. Looks like they were renovated recently. the staff was extremely polite and friendly and the breakfast was also good. The Hotel is located very close to the Railway station and easily accessible. The only drawback is that the lift doesnot function beyond the first floor so be ready to lug your luggage upwards if you are alloted rooms beyond the first floor. All in all a very good and pleasat place to stay and real value for money.
