Very nice and inexpensive for Florence
drt1120 Nov 28, 2009
We were able to find the hotel easily from the train station even at 7:00 pm. The staff was very nice and the food was ... great. At the breakfast buffet, they bring your coffee, espresso, or cappuccino to the table...which is made to order. We wished it was closer to the sites of Florence, but not terrible. Summer would be a better time to stay here to take advantage of the pool and roof garden.

This hotel was close to shopping and antiques, but was quite a walk to some of the main Florence sites.

Fine settimana in Firenze
Doyle Oct 26, 2009
My friend and I were back in town for a quick weekend after moving away over a year ago. We had shopping to do and many old ... haunts to visit, which was easy and stress free from the location of the Kraft Hotel. Knowing how nightmarish it is to drive in the limited traffic zones and finding parking in the center, it was a nice bonus that the hotel offered parking at a remote garage for 15 euros. They took it away and returned it to the front of the hotel when it was requested. Very easy. The room was in the refurbished part and was very nice, modern and clean. The mini bar was able to stash our bottle of champagne until we were ready for it too. The only surprise was the packaged brioche and cornetti that were supplied for continental breakfast! That was a shocker, as there are umpteen bakeries all around Florence where we could have gotten fresh ones, straight out of the oven for less than one euro! Easy to change though, and I would suggest that they do! Thanks for the memories, dear Florence...

A very welcoming hotel, nice rooms and an attentive staff. Pool on the roof was a nice way to end the day. It's small but ... absolutely fine. There's also a lovely bar/restaurant on the roof which we enjoyed.

Get awesome take out pizza from the Rotunda around the corner, take it back to the hotel and eat it with a bottle of Tuscan wine. Cheapest dinner option we had yet the most memorable.

JPC Aug 30, 2009
The room was nice, with it's own private balcony and a large bathroom. The air conditioning was a little weak by American ... standards, but was very good by Italian standards. We highly recommend the rooftop. The pool is small, but has a nice view. And the staff and the view from the rooftop bar was fabulous. (Try the sangria.)

nice hotel but bring extra money
Fun Times Jul 4, 2009
It was a nice hotel but everything extra cost money. The parking, the internet, etc. We swam at the small pool and drank at ... the roof top bar, which was very nice, but expensive.

Go to the yellow bar. It is a great family style restraunt with home-made pasta that is pretty cheap for what you get. It is a must when in Florence.

Long walk downtown
Richard May 22, 2008
We really liked the Hotel Kraft. Nice clean large room with modern bath. Plenty of hot water. Friendly and helpful staff. ... The only drawback is it is long (15 min) walk to the historic area (Ponte Vecchio). Nice views from the roof top garden. The breakfast was very good.

The walk from the hotel to the historic area is best along the river for the pretty views.

Wonderful base for exploring Florence
Jacob Feb 21, 2008
The Hotel Kraft is a wonderful hotel, easily on par with many significantly less budget-friendly establishments. Although not ... in the very center of the city, it is nonetheless very close to all what is important: Florence is a wonderful city in that everything is close. A five minute walk finds you in the Piazza del Republica - the center of the city, with shopping, dining, museums and nightlife all around. The hotel distributes wonderful maps showing off all the important parts of Florence. The breakfast is pleasant, and the staff are friendly and available to help with any tourism questions - including reservations and knowledge about local dining and night-life. Overall a wonderful place to relax and explore the city from.

Great coffee
Andrew Dec 11, 2007
Comfortable room, not very large but with a with comfortable bed. TV in the room provided CNN and BBC. The shower stall was ... a bit tight, but certainly adequate. The hotel was quiet. Breakfast(included) was very nice and I very much enjoyed the coffee. The service was friendly and helpful. The location was within a comfortable walk to all the museums, churches, and sites I wanted to see. Being a bolck from the river, always helped me to find it after my daily travels. A ten minute walk took me to the bus station (next to the train station)and I was able to save on cab fare to airport.

Very Friendly to International Travelers
Stephanie Sep 30, 2007
Hotel Kraft was very comfortable, the standard room had a king-size bed, desk with chair, two bedside tables, a lounge chair, ... TV with several English speaking channels and several lamps. The bathroom had a vanity area, there was adequate space for hanging clothes, and there were two suitcase stands. The corner room had windows in two directions, with one facing the Arno River. A free cold continental breakfast was provided every morning which included a variety of fresh fruit, yogurts, pastries, meats, boiled eggs, cheese, and cereals. The hotel also had rooftop dining for lunch and dinner and a rooftop bar. The staff was all friendly, speaking several languages, efficient with problem solving, arranging tours and taxis. The hotel was located on the edge of the old section of Florience with many of the main attractions within walking distance.
Traveler type: Couples
The Arno River was less than two blocks from the hotel. A ten minute walk along the Arno takes you to the Ponte Vecchio Florence's most famous bridge lined with gold and silver shops.
