Perfect Location.

Clean room. Good service. Perfect Location. Yummy Breakfast. Good price. I can't ask for more. Only one issue: hot water will be hot right the way. The shower needed to run about 10 mins to be hot.

Great location

The location of the hotel was excellent for seeing the most popular sights in Florence, i.e., Duomo, Medici chapel, the Uffizzi, Ponte Vechio and Academia. Also a great location for views, dining and shopping. While disappointed in the room because of the tiny shower and the outside noise, I believe that a room on a higher floor would help with the noise and not all rooms have the tiny shower. Unfortunately there were no others available for my stay.

Needs management attention: lacking

The Hotel Cavour has a great location, couldn`t ask for better location. The hotel has the potential to become a great hotel but lacks good management, and needs proper management follow through. Room service was very poor and when we complained each day we recieved little follow through. Daily we had to beg for items like Glasses in our room, we had to request towels, toilet tissue and when we requested theses items we would have to call management several times before we got results. The day we left we went into the breakfast dinning room as we had each day and noticed an upgrading in the food selection on the buffet that was on the level of hother hotels in it`s price range.When we asked what was happening, why the upgrades, we were told there was a major fashion show starting in Florence that day and the hotel wanted to look good.Each day The kiwi`s were hard, not ripe (every day) on the buffet table Other fruit came from a can, not fresh fruit, The only eggs on the buffet were scrabled, dry and over-cooked daily. Our bathroom had no shower doors, two days before we left they began installing bueatiful shower doors. This was without notice and at a time when we couldn`t use our room. When we complained we got no results. We got the feeling this was a hotel in transition, that one day would become a good hotel (with better management). Our room had bueatiful views, it`s just too bad the hotel didn`t have better management.
