Duomo Apartments Florence

It was an overall horrible experience for us. They claimed that we didnt inform them of our arrival and ofcourse in our opinion, booking that room and have been charged for it is informative enough but well, our words against theirs. They transferred us to another location on the other side of florence (was supposed to be near Duomo). The walk there was about 30 mins. Phone numbers provided on the booking didnt work at all and after trying for an hour it finally worked and was told that we caught them at a bad time, and that they were unprepared. They sent a random guy to drop off the keys and show us the apartment and was asked by this random guy to have our passports. We refused and was told that we couldnt stay in that apt since its the law in italy to keep a copy of our passports. They then gave us a non existing address to drop the copies of passports in the next morning. We looked for 2 hours and finally gave up and left them a message to come to us since we couldnt find them, no responce at all for those days we stayed there. Description on the booking says they provide internet access and the lady on the phone none of their apartments have that service. Scam! Stay away if you can.

The contact number which appear from the itinerary is never worked!! We called more than 15 times wen we arrive the showed address but no one picked up, no one answer the door, luckily a gentleman let us go in to his house to use the internet connection and find out another contact number from the homepage.

My 21 year old daughter and myself stayed for 3 nights in this place which was represented to be an apartment in the heart of Florence. OK, it was in the heart of Florence, but that's the only thing that was accurate. We were directed to call 48 hours in advance, which I did. I was then told to call back the next day to another number, which I did. The woman that I spoke with told me that she would meet me at the "apartment". I was never told that we be in a place other than that in the [...] address. Consequently, upon arrival in Florence we took a cab to the address listed on my [...] invoice. It was a very seedy area and there was no one there to meet us. After waiting a few minutes, I called the number that I had been given and was told that our lodging was a different address on the other side of town. So, after being totally lost in a piazza full of homeless people we finally were directed to a taxi stand a few blocks away by a kind woman who saw that we were stranded tourists. Finally, after a second taxi ride, we arrived at the correct "apartment". It was in a lovely building, but we had to walk up seven flights of stone stairs with our luggage. It was not the "Duomo Apartments" but "La Petite Suites"...a small complex of rooms in an apartment building. Our "apartment" was basically a hotel room without an elevator, without a kitchen, and with an old mini-bar fridge that did not in the least bit work. Of course since it was an "apartment" there was no towel service, although someone did make the bed. Luckily, there was a heater in the bathroom on which to dry towels. I must say that we were told upon arrival that there was wonderful shopping in the area, and there was if you wanted to shop at Hermes or Gucci, but I have doubts that many of those booking rooms on [...]do a lot of shopping in those pricy establishments, and if they did they wouldn't haul their own luggage up all of those stairs.Stay away from this place!

通常のアパートの1室であった。朝食なしと思っていたが、コンチネンタル式朝食がついていた。ただし、インターネットは利用付加。事前に連絡してキーを受け取る場所を聞かないといけないが、メールがなく電話で連絡を取らないといけないので、通りの名前など聞き取れずに苦労した。結局はタクシーのドライバーに電話してもらい聞き取ってもらった。

立地は徒歩観光の基地としては申し分なく、主なところへ１０数分で歩けます。アパートメントだけに部屋は広く、とくにリビングダイニングは４０㎡ほどあり、台所も使えるので連泊に向いています。ただし台所の備品の点検が出来ていないらしく、湯沸し器がリストにあって実物が見当たらず、片手鍋で代用、スプーンがあってもティースプーンがないなどちぐはぐがありました。寝室もベッドも広く、大きく快適でした。

ホテルの住所と書かれたところはホテルではないので要注意です。 こちらは不動産屋さんが持っている物件を日割りで貸す レンタルルームの ようなものだと考えてください。 いわゆる日本人観光客がフツウに考えるホテルではありません。 電話をかけると、住所を伝えられ、そこでカギを持った人と落ち合い、 カギをもらうというシステムになっています。 （私はホテルの住所と書かれたところに行ってしまい、途方に暮れました） 電話は英語かイタリア語で対応可能なようです。 私が泊まった部屋は(部屋ごとに住所も仕様も違う)部屋自体はきれいで 広いダイニングと別にベッドルームがあり、設備も整っており快適でした。 水まわりもきれいですが、タオル交換などは基本やってくれません。 (電話でお願いすればやってもらえるのかも) 中心街まで歩けますし、すぐ近くにバス停もあります。 フィレンツェの一般的なアパルトメントなので、住んでいるかのような 気分を味わえます。 私が泊まった サン・フレディアーノ通りは美味しいトラットリアやリストランテが 数多くあり、美味しい食事にはことかきませんでした。(下調べは必要) こういったシステムに慣れている方であれば、快適に過ごせると思います。
