We almost got scammed!!
The location is very important specially when you hop on to different cities in Europe...We pick this location for the reason that its right by the station..Yes the area is not the very best, but Florence is not as scary as other cities in Italy...they have 24/7 surveillance camera in a lot of main streets, so its not really a problem to go out at night...there are pizzaria restaurant about a couple streets from the hotel.HOTEL; not the most accommodating Receptionist i ever experienced. [...]I have no complaints about the cleanliness of the room it was nice old style room..very clean too..breakfast is the only thing they serve in there restaurant, and its just small stuffs...if you're still hungry there's a lot of good deli's around.i have no complains about the area too, coz having it close to the station was really convenient most especially if you got a big luggage with you...Center is just 10 mins walk away...not really bad...and you can hop on the train to go to Sienna and Pisa easily.

there are a lot of good restaurant in the center...ask the locals for dining recommendations...never ask the tour guides they will just bring you to the most pricey yet not the best food in town...Florence is a small city so you can go around and find the most hidden good restaurants around

the worst travel experiences
too noisy to be in front of the train station, plus the neighborhood was very ugly and dangerous

A good sized room and bed and
A good sized room and bed and a generous bathroom. The only downside was an odour that seemed to permeate the bathroom from the drains. This could be minimized by keeping the plugs in place. The breakfast was adequate. The front desk staff were very helpful and English was not a problem. Small lifts were a challenge with baggage

Clean room at a fair price
Convenient location by the Santa Maria Novella train station walking distance to everything. We ended up staying not in the Hotel Diplomat as planned but they put us in the sister hotel next door called the Hotel Ambasciatori. Clean room not much to it but since we didn't plan on staying in the room too much it didn't matter. Hotel staff helpful.

Florence B & H Hotels Ambasador Hotel
The location of the hotel very close to the historic centre of Firenze was unique and made the stay easy no long travel hours from and to the sights. The very friendly staff in the reception made the trip close to perfect. One of the ladies working during the morning buffet should learn to smile and be more service minded. All in all we can recommend this hotel to other guests.

Florence trip
i have been in Florence with my wife. It was our vacation time, unfortunatelly room was too small, but everything else was realy good

Italy-lover
Perfect location, clean, cool!
The hotel is perfectly located across from the train station. I was worried that it might be too noicy, but we never heard a sound. Very quiet, clean, super-friendly staff, and most importantly, the room was air-conditioned and it worked (it was August and 92 degrees F). The Breakfast Buffet was free and excellent. You could even make your own cappuchino, latte, etc. Everything was a 5 minute walk away: the beautiful churches, sights, shopping, restaurants. And if you want to venture further, Taxis are everywhere and relatively cheap. I'd go back to the Diplomat Hotel in a heartbeat!
