The Castri Hotel came to be in two 19th century palaces in Florence, the capital of Italy at the time, which on one side overlook Piazza Indipendenza and Via Nazionale. The other side overlooks a garden, measuring more than 1000 square meters, with palm trees, two large magnolia trees and statues in terracotta and 19th century marble.After World War I the hotel focused on serving english clientele from the times of Queen Victoria. After the World War II, it began to serve an international clientele. The Hotel also provides doctor on call, lift/elevator, lobby, pets allowed, reception, luggage storage and private garden. Breakfast included.

Horrible-Low Rent-NOT 3 Star-Beware

This hotel is gross. It needs a major overhaul/renovation. It smells, the walls are paper thin - we could hear everything down the hall, out in the street. The room was just horrible - filthy rug, mold in the bathroom, bugs, dust everywhere - the pictures on the website are false advertising - they show a basic room, yes, but not how rundown it is. Our toilet was duct taped together! Staff was not friendly - I imagine they don't pay them very well either - they obviously don't put any money back into the hotel. Beware - do not stay here.
