The Castri Hotel came to be in two 19th century palaces in Florence, the capital of Italy at the time, which on one side overlook Piazza Indipendenza and Via Nazionale. The other side overlooks a garden, measuring more than 1000 square meters, with palm trees, two large magnolia trees and statues in terracotta and 19th century marble.After World War I the hotel focused on serving english clientele from the times of Queen Victoria. After the World War II, it began to serve an international clientele. The Hotel also provides doctor on call, lift/elevator, lobby, pets allowed, reception, luggage storage and private garden. Breakfast included.

Horrible-Low Rent-NOT 3 Star-Beware

This hotel is gross. It needs a major overhaul/renovation. It smells, the walls are paper thin - we could hear everything down the hall, out in the street. The room was just horrible - filthy rug, mold in the bathroom, bugs, dust everywhere - the pictures on the website are false advertising - they show a basic room, yes, but not how rundown it is. Our toilet was duct taped together! Staff was not friendly - I imagine they don't pay them very well either - they obviously don't put any money back into the hotel. Beware - do not stay here.

Beware this filthy dirty hotel,

Beware this filthy dirty hotel, which does not even deserve 1 star!!!!! Luckily we were only booked for 1 night. Staff were totally unhelpful, and the bar did not exist. Never again!!!!!

Good basic hotel with excellent location

This hotel is for those who want basic accomodation but still in a good location. It is about a 5-10 minute walk from the main train station, where most people come from. Is very close to the markets and most major attractions. Nice addition was the included breakfast which was excellent. It also has a lovely courtyard.

I was very disappointed with the

I was very disappointed with the service and room. The bed was bed which was good, but the facilities were quite old. The staff at the reception were not very helpful at all.

The room was clean, quiet and comfortable for the two of us. Breakfast was the average continental fare. The Hotel itself was clean within walking distance from the train station. It has a nice garden at the rear. We enjoyed our stay here.

An extra pillow would have been

An extra pillow would have been nice. Bathroom very small. Nice gardens and good breakfast room. Relatively close to railway station.

I enjoed staying in this hotel.

I enjoed staying in this hotel. The bathroom maybe needs renovation but the location, nice back jard and free Wi-Fi as well as nice stuff at reception makes this hotel a good choice!

Hotel ancien, petit budget bien

Hotel ancien, petit budget bien situe a 2 pas du centre historique. Chambres bien equipees calmes et spatieuses mais pas tres propres. Internet gratuit au RDC. Petit dejeuner buffet basic mais suffisant avec beau jardin interieur. Parking payant assez difficile a 15mn a pieds sur les Bd exterieurs.
