The main characteristic of the B&B Casa Schlatter is that of being not only a comfortable accommodation facility for a fine tourist who wants to visit Florence lodging with an antique, luxury residence but also a real museum. During their stay the guests can enjoy the vision of many original pieces of C. Adolfo Schlatter, painter and sculptor, realized in these rooms and never taken out of the house. You will then have the chance to discover the hidden treasure of a great artist, who lived and worked at the end of the 19th century still unknown by the wide public; you will be also surrounded by the artistic atmosphere of Florence, a city full of wonders. You will then have the chance to discover the story and beauty of Casa Schlatter: the uniqueness of the bedrooms, each one in its own different style, the relax and peace of the house garden, the warm welcome of Alessandra, the owner, without forgetting the ease of being in a strategic position for your stay in Florence. The Bed &Breakfast is in a building dated back to the beginning of the 20th century. The Swiss painter Carlo Adolfo Schlatter built it. The artist, belonging to the Florentine artistic scene of that time among Decadents, Macchiaioli and Symbolists, employed it as studio and home, after his family moved to Italy at the beginning of the 1800. Still owned by his descendant, the house has been restored carefully in order to maintain the original atmosphere although all modern comforts have been added. The walls are decorated by big pictures, which represent Florence as it used to be, and these are part of the works of the artist; statues and other precious objects enrich the atmosphere, completely provided with antique furniture. Two bronze dragons guard the house from the roof...in a few words you can breath a very unique atmosphere, and the guests can have a very pleasant and relaxing stay because of the house position: it lies at the foot of the hills of Fiesole, a few minutes away from the centre of Florence. The house has three double rooms, each one with their own independent bathroom. The biggest room has an intermediate floor and can accommodate up to four people. Breakfast is served in the small private garden, or in the big hall always available to the guests. Alessandra is the artist's great gran-child and she takes care of the hospitality; she is always happy to satisfy her costumers' needs, making their stay pleasant with typical local dishes in a warm, cozy atmosphere.

Casa Schlatter Florence Rooms

Standard Single
This small room, added later to the structure of the house as a small dependence in the garden, makes one think that it is used for service. But its reduced dimension is compensated by revealing a small surprise of tranquility, where everything reminds of an imaginary gardener: furniture with floral carvings, sky- blue walls and in the bathroom, on a small - stones floor, there is a shell basin. The gardener's room has a double bed in French style. As for the other rooms in the bed and breakfast everything suits all the modern comforts, in the sanitaries, wide showers, as for the other services: TV, air conditioning system, Internet wireless. An ideal solution for your holiday in Florence.

Emma or Ruit Ora Room
Room "emma " or "Ruit Ora" is a spacious room with a window door on the cool garden behind the B&B. It can have two twin beds or a double bed, on costumers' choice. The room has a feminine connotation: everything suggests the intimacy of a room belonged first to Emma and after to Dina and now to the great grand-child Alessandra. The antique furniture stands on the intense rose-coloured walls and the floor, underlined, with sober graciosity, by the golden frames and drapery. The same shades of rose and gold, with mirrors and period lamps, is used again for the decoration of the bathroom, with a bath and a shower. This room also has a painting: its theme is that of the romantic idea of the passing of time which belongs to the decadent/symbolist period of the painter.
Carlo Adolfo Room
The room "Carlo Adolfo" also called " The swans' room" was named after the big painting (cm 112 x 200) hanged on its wall representing a couple of majestic swans, surrounded by mysterious obscure water. This is the widest room of the B&B with a beautiful window on the front garden. It can accommodate up to four people, having two single beds on the intermediate floor and a double bed in the 24 metres below it. Having a wide mosaic bathroom is its exclusive, situated in front of the bedroom's entering door; the bathroom has all the comforts with modern bathroom accessories (shower siphon on the ceiling, of about 40 cm) together with a refined choice of taps and fittings and sanitaries in style. Back in time this room used to be a vital part of the living room/studio, separated from it only by a big arch, still visible on the intermediate floor.
