location makes up for decor
The hotelier is an odd character, he attempts broken English and does his best to welcome you, however you will quickly notice that there are hand written notes from him literally everywhere telling you not to do this and not to do that. We joked that it felt more like a prison at times! You also have to check in between a certain time in the morning/lunch time, as he just disappears for the other 21 hours of the day. Having said that it was in a great location, 5 minutes from the main station and 5 minutes the other way from the main tourist squares. The room decor, facilities and general feel is basic, but clean and deserves it's 2 star rating. Good value if you're on a budget as we are students.

Short walk from hotel
Don't get sucked in by the great value set menus surroundng the tourist centres. They rely on tourists, i.e. those who only come once, for custom. We were lazy one night and went somewhere very central for a set menu and it was one of the worst meals we have ever had!

Cozy, warm, safe, beds are super comfortable, bathrooms are modern and always clean. 5 minute walk to all the major museums, cathedrals and train stations plus the staff couldn't be nicer. Wifi connection was also great. Definitely worth the 2 floors with no elevator. Whenever I come back this is where I'm staying.
