Inside a neoclassical palace dating back to 1865, the newly remodeled Carolus Hotel offers its guests a warm and intimate atmosphere in a very convenient location. The hotel is situated in Florence's historical center: near the central train station from which marvelous tours of the Tuscany region begin; just few steps from the Academy (Michelangelo's David) and the San Marco Monastery/Museum. Florence's Duomo, the Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio are only a 10/15 minutes walk away, allowing guests to spend the day sightseeing, shopping and dining in the heart of Florence and then comfortably retreat in the peaceful neighborhood of the Carolus Hotel.

Central location but dated

This hotel is a good location to explore florence from being just a short walk away from major local attractions. The staff were reasonably helpful. The decor is quite dated and our room was a little run down. The en suite was very old but fairly clean, but had no ventilation. No parking facilities and cars are stored at a distant location about 20 minutes way. A decent hotel but dont expect much luxury...

Lots of Space for a Euro Hotel Room

My fiancé and I had a great stay at the Carolus. The room was surprisingly big, had a fridge/minibar with reasonable prices, and our room had a balcony with a table and two chairs. I don't think all the rooms had balconies, but we lucked out. The location was a bit further out of the way than it looked like it would have been on the map, but close enough to the Arno as long as you don't mind walking a fair amount. Good breakfast, free wifi, excellent value

praktisch gelegen

das Hotel ist in ca. 10 Minuten zu Fußvom Bahnhof Santa Maria Novella erreichbar, direkt neben dem Hotel befindet sich auch eine Bushaltestelle, also leicht erreichbar, die Innenstadt ist auch wunderbar zu Fuß erreichbar. Das Zimmer und das Bad sind sauber, einzig die schwarzen Flecken am Badewannenrand beeinträchtigen das sonst positive Gefühl. Frühstück ist ordentlich, aber nicht allzuviel Ab-wechslung. Würde jederzeit wieder dort übernachten.
