First trip to Florence
This may be a biased review because we had one of the best rooms in the hotel. High up and on the back side facing the Medici Chapel dome, it was quiet and had a nice private balcony. During our week long stay, the staff were very helpful and always available. The breakfast on the terrace was great with a nice view of the Duomo and great cappuccino! The large room and bathroom were kept spotless. We also enjoyed having the in-room coffee maker for a pick me up after walking the magnificent city that is Firenze. We highly recommend the Hotel Laurus.

Room Comfort
This hotel is a typical European hotel, small, clean and no frills. The negative was the pillows which were thin and hard as concrete The location of the hotel was great, just down the street from the Duomo which you could see from the rooms and roof top dining area

Location, Location, Location!
If you want to see Florence, this location is right at its heart. We walked everywhere from the hotel. The hotel and the room were very clean and the staff was courteous. Parking is offsite, but reasonable. You park in front and the hotel contacts the company to get your car. (Definitely need a GPS is you are driving.) Many good restaurants in the area.

unbeatable location for the price
Great location- did si9ghtseeing and hotel was in walking distance of everything. Only one complaint- matttress was too hard.

Lovely location with great terrace view
Florence is a compact city so this hotel, like most, was a short walk from the train station and was also very close to the Duomo. However, I felt very centrally located and stopping back by the hotel between outings was very convenient. The rooms were very nice, the bathroom was particularly well appointed. My one complaint was the bed: the mattress was a little hard, a bit worn, and the pillows were quite flat. Not uncomfortably so, but enough of a contrast with the level of the hotel that you noticed. As a counter to my one complaint, I will say that the staff was very helpful despite my non existent Italian and were great about explaining things for me.

Unbeatable location for the price
Our experience was incredible. Great location, we walk all the surrounding area, Il Duomo, mercato centrale, the museums. The quality of the hotel was impeccable and the people from the hotel were very helpful and nice. It was a great experience overall.

walking is the best way to get to know the city. You will find the little restaurants around that usually do not advertise that much.

small cafe shop across from duomo. stand don't sit, prices are cheaper. fresh espresso and pastries galore. great way to start your adventure.

Amazing Location!
Amazingly central location - 5 minutes from the train station, 3 minutes to the Duomo and great shopping and restaurants. The only thing I found strange is that the hotel required the room key to be inserted into a special thing in the wall so that power and water would work in the room - without the key card in this device, nothing in the room worked. Leave it in overnight as well to charge cell phones! Hotel staff was very helpful in suggesting restaurants, knew locations of all major tourist sites, it was really great. The cafe in the hotel lobby has amazing croissants and coffee as well. I would get two pastries and a cappuccino and be out the door for 3.20 euro. Oh, using the hotel's computer and internet was 5 euro for 30 minutes. I skipped this.
