A nice place to stay in Florence
We enjoyed our stay at Balestri. It's a nice hotel but the rooms are a bit dated and run down. A new coat of paint is definitely in order for the room we stayed in. Overall I'd give it a 3.5 - Good location, nice staff, a fine breakfast but no hot items. Internet access is available in your room for only 5 Euros for the entire stay.

I' Cche' c'e' c'e' - Tucked away on a small side street. This place is great! Gino the owner is very personable and the food was good. Nice spot and an easy walk from the hotel. Via Magalotti, 11r

Beautiful hotel, great location and view
This was a terrific hotel. The lobby and dining room are beautifully decorated. The staff was friendly and helpful. The view from our room was unbeatable, right on the Arno river. The hotel was clean and breakfast was typical for an Italian continental; breads, meats, cheese, fruit, cereal, yogurt. The location is very convenient, walking distance to everything. The only negative is that the street can be a bit noisy at night on the weekend. Overall I would definately stay here on my next visit to Florence.

ask for a river view
The location of this hotel was absolutely perfect. We reserved a room overlooking the Arno and the hillside beyond. The room was large by American standards, and perhaps a bit modern for some tastes, but the downstairs reception rooms retain much of the early 20th century elegance that we enjoy. We could hang out the window, and only with the open window is noise an issue, and watch the sun set on Ponte Vecchio every night. A short walk takes a person to the Uffici. The narrow alleys behind the hotel lead to small markets and restaurants.

Great location
Excelent location, by the river, two blocks away from Ponte Vechio, one from Ufizzi. Out of turist crowds. Quiet and comfortable. We had a beautiful view. The only problem we had, we reserved a non smooking room, we had to stay in a smooking room as they argued the reservation did not mention that.

Pleasant place to stay
Enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Staff were helpful and fluent in English. Good breakfast spread. Great Location. Older hotel but well maintained.

great location close to ponte vechio and all the best of florence. but the rooms are to basic (no carpets and steal furniture..), you dont see ponte vechio from your room!! only one window in the room. room was very clean. the breakfast was good. its close to the best locations in florence. most of the staff really nice and helpful.

Favorite Hotel Stay of My Trip!
This was my second trip to Florence. I am a female and was traveling with my mother. We loved this hotel because it was close to everything and in a well-travelled area. As such, we felt safe going and coming at night. The hotel was lovely. Our room was the largest we had during our 9 night trip in Italy. The staff was helpful, but didn't pry. There was a problem with our reservation, but they took care of it immediately and without fuss. Our room looked out on the Arno River. We could see the Pitti Palace as well as the beautiful church and monastery up in the hills. If I am lucky enough to go to Florence again, I will stay at this hotel.

We spent both evenings listening to a street musician on the Ponte Vecchio. There was a group of people who came both nights and danced. It was magical.

Hotel tres bien situe, pour ceux
Hotel tres bien situe, pour ceux qui ne veulent pas fatiguer.... par contre attention au parking, il est payant.... nous, on a mis notre voiture au praking, mais il y avait d'autres qui se sont fichus du reglement pendant deux ou trois nuits .... ca fait un peu bizarre....
