Good Alternative at Rome Airport
I booked this hotel on-line hoping that the mixed reviews wouldn't lead me to a place with minimal amenities. In fact, things worked out well. The location is great...about 12 minutes from the airport and right across the street from the beach. The hotel isn't particularly luxurious, but it is modern, clean, and well appointed. The desk staff was very helpful and even gave me a room with an extra bed at no extra charge when I mentioned that my adult son might be joining us. The breakfast was not elaborate--mostly breads and cereals--but there were some cold cuts and cheeses. Free street parking was plentiful during the October day I arrived, but it filled up fast in the evening when all the restaurants opened for dinner. It might also be tight when the beach is in full swing. All-in-all, I'd stay here again, as it's a hassle free way to ensure that you catch your morning flight out of Fiumicino airport.

Short drive from hotel
If you plan on driving to the airport from this hotel (to return a rental car, for example), you should make a dry run first. The distance isn't long, but there are several turns involved, and you don't want to be led astray when you're rushing to make your plane. The desk staff can map out the route for you.
