this is the best hotel I have
this is the best hotel I have stayed at in Italy. The location is fantastic - right on the lake. The staff are wonderful, very friendly and helpful. It is a perfect place to base yourself in Lake Garda. Very easy to get too and also to drive to other places. We did day trips to Venice, Milan and Verona and it was all very easily accessible. Lake Garda is beautiful so a tour around the lake is also a great thing to do. All in all a very pleasant stay

Wonderful view from lake view room - worth every penny of upgrade in spite of occasional noise from storms on lake

The 'Cleanliness' rating is low
The 'Cleanliness' rating is low because of all the squished bugs on the walls and the fact that I couldn't store my suitcase on top of the wardrobe because it was thick with dust. Apart from that the room was clean, towels were changed every day and the room was made up every day. Breakfast was nice enough but we didn't have dinner so can't comment on that aspect of the food. Staff were very pleasant and responded immediately to requests, even late at night. Location is good because its 5 mins walk from the centre of Desenzano so you don't get street noise. Its worth paying for a lake-side room as the view of Lake Garda is fantastic, a lovely sight to wake up to each morning. Pool is cool and clean. Stairs are for emergency exit only so if you don't like lifts don't stay here.
