Offering spacious accommodation and a large buffet breakfast, Grand Hotel Elite is a pleasant 20-minute stroll from Bologna's Due Torri towers.
Rooms and suites are elegant and comfortable, with a retro 1970s feeling. All air-conditioned, they also feature an interactive TV with satellite channels and 4 pay-per-view films.
The gourmet Cordon Bleu Restaurant serves a combination of Emilia-Romagna specialities and international cuisine, plus a wide selection of regional wines. Bike rental, tourist information and a tour desk are all available at the hotel's 24-hour reception.
The city centre is a 5-minute bus ride from the property. Bologna Cathedral and the University of Bologna are 20 minutes away on foot, while Bologna Central Station is a 30-minute walk or short bus ride away.

The Grand Hotel Elite was a great value. Our room was large and well-appointed, very clean, with extremely comfortable beds.
The full service breakfast was amazing. The wait staff very cheerful and helpful every morning. The front desk staff was
also very helpful and spoke English, which was a plus.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Using the autobus in Bologna: Purchase a 10-ride ticket at the train station for 11 Euros not the 12 charged at tobacco shops or newstands.
Always use the correct door on the bus. Always validate your ticket. We used the wrong door and paid a exorbitant fine of 60 Euros ($90 US dollars).
This hotel is great and seems to have changed little since the early 70s, providing a good break to the usual modern hotel. The young staff also seem to have been teleported forward making for a very interesting experience. There are always 3
people working the reception, 2 of whom seem to have little to do and the general staff to guest ratio is approx. 3:1.
It's very confortable if odd and we would highly recommend it for a day or two.
The only downside is the location. They claim it is close to the center, it's not. It's a good 45 minute walk, so plan on taking the bus. The restaurant and breakfast is worth a look, try the 12 euro/pp breakfast once but don't commit afterwards. The internet is 10 euro per day and TV is only in Italian.
