solid value, relatively quiet location in Amalfi town

Great location in Amalfi town. Overlooks the port, 5 minute walk to the main town entry and to bus (e.g., Ravello) and ferry (e.g., Positano) transportation. But still -- a good thing -- far enough away from the buses and the crowds to feel you're really on vacation.. Staff is truly professional and helpful. Breakfast staff helpful too; breakfast itself ok. Great wi-fi connection. Main downside is that the bathrooms are dated and the towels are a bit coarse. Also, though lots of tv stations, not one was in English; even three-star hotels we stayed in offered CNN and BBC for English speaking travelers.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

In addition to the great church in town, a 20-minute walk to Atrani, along but above the coastal road, is worth it. In fact, veer off the main road in Amalfi on almost any small by-way and you find yourself in a medieval housing world (but be prepared to climb up, up, and up).
