Great location for staying in Tiberias

Hotel is clean. Although the accommodations are a little basic, the staff is friendly and very helpful and those attending the receiption desk speak very good English.

Great for Galilee

Would recommend Mon, Mar 26, 2012
I totally enjoyed the setting and felt very comfortable. The food was great and the hotel staff very helpful and pleasant. This spot served as an excellent base for exploring Galilee. One drawback is the long walk to the beach and shopping but since I am a walker it didn't bother me, and there are buses and taxis constantly available.

OK

Walked a lot (hotel is not close to downtown) maybe a half mile away This is a "tour bus" hotel I enjoy following the news. The Television coverage had very little English channels. The other hotels in Tel Aviv and Haifa had lots of choices.

Dining

Sit on the deck by the beach. First place to the South of Music beach owned by a great couple.

Okay hotel for the cost

Our stay at the Astoria was nothing to brag about, but decent for the cost. The shower curtain was really dirty - needed to be changed, but the rest was fine. Doesn't come with shampoo, but breakfast was good. Dinner even better. Cons: We are Shabbat observant and I asked for a lunch reservation ahead of time, which they said we could do upon check-in. However, upon check-in, they said they were not going to have lunch that Shabbat, so it left us without lunch on Shabbat. However, they were very nice and said that we could take whatever we wanted from breakfast...

Not Bad. Far from things.

Average hotel. I would stay again. Nice room, no view. Service average. Breakfast average. Man who runs the restaurant is a very nice man who goes out of his way for you. Hotel is a long way from other hotels and area attractions. Okay if you have a car, otherwise you'll walk a lot, and coming back from town or the lake it's all uphill. Wireless in lobby only - not in rooms. Don't know why. Pretty good value. I think a car is needed to see the attractions around the Galilee. If you like archeology make the drive to Meggido. Some great Holy sites around here.

Dining

Eat falafel pita in town. Excellent. Cheap meal too.
