Great room

Really impressed by the size and comfort of my room, which came with a large desk. There was a balcony with a wonderful ocean view. The breakfast buffet is fantastic, even by the very high Israeli standards. I would definitely stay here again. This hotel is A-1 for a business traveler.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The London Cafe, 111 Herbert Samuel, is really excellent, judging from the dinner that I had there the other night. It's just a short walk toward the beach.

Fantastic Hotel

Beachfront location, huge gym with an instructor available all the time, swimming pool. And also I had lots of complimentary stuff in my room: bottle of wine, fruit basket, box of cookies, nespresso machine. 4 of 5 - because you have to cross the road to get to the beach.

Bring Your Disco Shoes - You're Stuck in the 70s

For the price I paid, I expected a much nicer hotel. Yes, the location near the beach (not on the beach) was pretty nice. Excellent views from the 7th floor - spectacular views from the 18th floor. But the hotel itself is rather ordinary. The area in general - right next to the French Embassy - felt like it was trapped in the 70s. In my room, the bathroom was in serious need of a remodel. The ceiling above the shower was cracked and had mildew stains on it. The bed was fairly comfortable and I did sleep well. The only thing I would suggest is to keep you valuables in the safe. I came back to my room to find my maid surprised I was there and then ask me if 'it was my money'. I looked and sure enough the shekels (coins) I left on the desk were gone. She did return 2 out of 3 to me and it left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Was there on business for a few days, so the room did the trick. For what I paid, I expected far more - for half the price I had a much better room in Lviv, Ukraine than in Tel Aviv.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

If this is your first time to Tel Aviv and Israel in general - be warned. Airport security is at least a 2.5 hour affair. Don't follow the standard US rules of 'at least 2 hours before' - you'll miss your flight! Bank on at least 3 hours or more if you can. Its the most miserable part of the experience and really leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

Stay Late August 2010

Central location easy walk to good resteraunts; cafe and shopping areas. The staff were charming, helpful and welcoming with the exception of the Poolside staff who did not measure up to the service in the rest of the hotel. Our room was spacious and well serviced but slightly worn with pictures coming out of the frame and peeling paint in the bathroom. We found the nightime traffic and music unnoticeable with the air-conditioning on. Given this we would stay there again.

Great Location

The Sheraton Tel Aviv is located across the street from a beautiful beach on the Mediterranean, and a beachfront with a wide assortment of restaurants and other excellent restaurants within a short taxi ride distance. The hotel provided towels for the beach.

You can eat in the restaurant or once the sun goes down many of the restaurants place tables and chairs in the sand on the beach and it is a great place to enjoy a meal or cocktail.
