Old fashioned relaxing break

Have stayed at the Yeats Country a few times. Lovely comfortable and relaxing hotel with usually great evening entertainment over the weekend. Rooms are dated but clean and comfortable. Only issue we had was on our departure day we went for breakfast and planned to pack and shower after, however the accommodation staff cleaned the room whilst we were at breakfast, taking the bath towels and leaving us with a hand towel. As the bed was freshly made also we felt like we weren't allowed the use of the room up until the already earlier than universal check out time of 11am. I was really disappointed and mentioned this on check out however the receptionist didn't appear overly concerned. Will stay again but will be making use of the dnd card...

While the staff seemed friendly when I checked in they gave no information about the hotel facilities, just that on my way to my room I would pass the bar... As they were so unwilling to part with information I decided to book myself a seaweed bath elsewhere (even though on the website the hotel claims to have a leisure club and spa) I did however have food in the bar, and as usual instead of being feeling I could enjoy it, I felt I was taking up room. Breakfast was a different story, lovely lady on the door full of smiles.I was presented with the buffet table which was fine and had the usual cereals and fruit and juice. The "hot" food was anything but, it was cold and tasteless. My advice is get to breakfast the second it starts or keep an eye on when they change the trays and get some hot food.. I would say the hotel needs updating but a welcome book in the room is a must.. it is ideally situated with great walks just a stones throw away. The views can not be beaten.

The remote location was lovely. There was lots of historical sites to visit nearby. The staff was friendly and helpful. We'll put it on our list of places to re-visit.
