Location!

Great locations! Good value for the location! Ask for a room not facing their bar/restaurant McGettigans as you will be up all night. Left two wake-up calls. Neither came. Staff hit and miss. Sometimes very helpful and sometimes can't be bothered (and that was the same person). Still, location, location, location.

Great location

This hotel is in a great location and that's what makes it special. Be careful for the showers as the water switches from scortching hot to ice cold and back again at least 3 times trough out your shower. Be sure to ask for a room not facing Mallow Street as you will hear music from the bar all night long and the yelling people on the street outside will keep you awake. The front desk staff is hit and miss. Sometimes really helpful and sometimes ignore your requests. Left wake up calls twice and never received either. Still, location, location, location.

Couple night away

The room was basic clean but the window was broken so would not open so the heat was ridiculous for the night could not breathe. Had to pay for parking. Found bar staff to be friendlier than reception staff.

O hotel, problem with payment

The hotel insisted on taking payment again even though we had already paid onlines. I rang the bookers in London. Most impressed with your response at 11:45 pm - thank you, Tasmin, who rang the hotel to sort it out, then rang me back. The second payment was refunded in the morning. That apart, an OK hotel, but not wonderful.

Great location; Wonderful view

We stayed two nights at the Limerick City Hotel and found it to be perfect for our needs. Centrally located; comfortable; great view of the river from our room; friendly and ultra helpful staff. I would definitely stay here again!

Never again!

Hotel was nice.we were on 6th floor and lift only goes to 5th floor.Beautiful views. The restaurant was an entirely different story. It offered evening meals. The menu consisted of sandwiches and starters.we eventually ordered and waited half hour for food which was awful.I ordered fish and chips with peas as it was the only thing that resembled a dinner.Donegal catch and a spoon of peas.My partner eventually said she'd try the chillie. It came in a small bowl with sour cream which was melted and warm. Dessert was apple and berry crumble. Horrendous!. Hard apple and lumps of sugar. We complained at reception as they had told us earlier it was so busy in restaurant to come early.we were the only ones eating!. Everyone else was watching The world cup and drinking. The duty manager was supposed to see us. We saw no one. When asked on our departure was everything ok we said about our experience. She said "that's a pity"s and promptly moved on to the next departure. Would I recommend this hotel. In a word NO.We go away regularly and thank God that's been our only bad experience.

Tired Old Hotel

The Limerick City Hotel was recently purchased from Jury's and is undergoing a much needed major renovation. Our room was on the sixth floor, offering a beautiful view of the Shannon, however the elevator only goes to the fifth floor; you have to walk up one flight of stairs. The room must not have been stayed in for a while. The shower faucet was very difficult to turn ( required full force of two hands) but they replaced it immediately. The carpet and television needed to be replaced. The staf was very helpful and the price is right plus it is very conviently located near SNN.
