value midweek deal

Would recommend Thu, Jun 26, 2014
Very comfortable and good value hotel, we paid 215 Euro for 2 nights bed and breakfast in a spacious standard room ,which was nicely and decorated with all the essential facilities and pleasant view of the estate . Upstairs bar looked very nice but was closed on the Sunday and Monday evening of our visit. Gym had limited equipment. Breakfast was good, staff very friendly. I would rate it a good four star hotel.

Amazing family welcome.. 5 star experience!

Would recommend Fri, Apr 25, 2014
From the minute I pulled up with my family, we were treated with a warm welcome. The staff are very friendly and eager to please. My toddler loved the hotel swing and slide and if she was a little bit older we could have used the bicycles. Leisure centre pool was a big hit! We ate in the bar for lunch and dinner and the food was lovely. I look forward to returning to The Lyrath.

Golden Girls Getaway

Would recommend Tue, Aug 20, 2013
Just back from a 2 night stay (four of us). This is a beautiful hotel, though a little way out of town for anybody that wanted to walk into town. However a taxi is only about €10.00. Hotel grounds are wonderful and very well maintained. Car park is a little bit away from the actual hotel, so wheelchair users or anybody not too good on the feet would be advised to get dropped off at the front door. Staff very pleasant and household staff very, very helpful supplying clean towels and robes whenever requested. Toiletries not too abundant (only one of each of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel for a double room) but I'm sure household would supply more if requested. Same with tea/coffee - only two teabags/coffee/milk, however when more requested there was no problem. Bit disappointed with evening meal in La Perla. Expensive (€39) for a two course meal - and be warned , book early if you are going to eat at the hotel. However all in all a beautiful place, and I certainly would stay there again. In fact hope to re-visit if there is a Kilkenny Christmas Fair/Festival

Attractions

This is a beautiful hotel on beautiful grounds so one should being walking shoes and make the best of the lovely grounds.

so relaxing

Would recommend Thu, Apr 5, 2012
We have been to the Lyrath a number of times and its my favourite hotel for relaxing -Staff are friendly and professional and its always nice and quiet even with a larger than usual no of children staying there this time (easter hols) The Food was excellent in bar and at breakfast but I was disappointed that Yindees wasnt open as thats my favourite place to dine. My 4 year old was disappointed to fing the walled garden closed off and she not able to utilise the climbing equipment and slide. The bikes available are great though. I would suggest it be good move to provide a play zone even at rear of property. only thing excessive are prices of movie hire on bedroom TV's. Otherwise its a great spot to visit.

Attractions

Castlecomber discovery park - approx 15km from hotel - fab forest walks and park for small kids, excellent restaurant for lunch -lovely craft shops history of mining in ireland at charge.
