Very charming hotel
This hotel is a very short walk, about 3-5 minutes, to JFK Park and all the bars, restaurants, shopping, etc. The hotel is old, but updated and very charming. The rooms appear to all be different. We had a fake fireplace and an oil painting in our room. The staff is very friendly, parking is free, an excellent breakfast is free and they gave us a coupon for something like a bottle, of wine, two 3 course meals for 38 euro. And the food was good! I would stay here again

Wonderful Gesture Equals Great Vacation
The stay far exceeded my expectations. We arrived early, well ahead of check-in time and hoped to just leave our luggage with the hotel unitl our room was ready. Instead the attendant at the desk offered us an apartment suite for our entire weeks stay at our same rate. This was the most wonderful vacation as a result.

Just ordinary compared to reviews
Just basic needs. no fresh water bottles on tray, had to go out to purchase water to make tea when arrived, or a couple of biscuits would have made a difference. Room very small for double. The lounge area was very comfortable and friendly. Asked for a fresh pot of tea with our breakfast but the empty pot was just topped up with just a little amount of boiling water instead of a fresh pot of tea! would not have cost much extra, just lacking attention to detail. Please note mildew all around the windows and curtains could do with a little fixing. As for value friends stayed in a hotel close by for just 9 euro's extra 4* quality.

Ok hotel
Location was good-right in Galway city. Older hotel-doors lock after midnight and I had to stand outside banging on the door and ring the doorbell for someone to answer they should have told us this when we arrived. Very tiny rooms, two single beds maybe a foot apart? Cramped. Bar was nice and breakfast came with the room which was nice.

Choose Western in Galway!
The compact entry and registration area belies the strengths of this hotel. Room are spacious, well-lit, with larger barthrooms. Halls are multi-leveled and have twists and turns, as many hotels Irish and European cities do...only adds to the charm. Parking is under the hotel, with valet if desired. Pub is pretty, restaurant breakfasts extremely delish and generous. Had a fourth floor room with a fantastic view and clean, crisp breezes. Staff helpful to the degree that the young lady at registration walked us to the door to ensure we knew the road needed. Location is on the cusp of all wonderful bits of the walkable and friendly city.

Great stay in Galway
Best water pressure I have ever experienced (in a Hotel or anywhere else)!! Large Bathroom. Good irish breakfast. Pub right down stairs. Another great pub right down the street that has excellent food and traditional music called Au Pucan.

Au Pucan had best Irish stew I had ever tasted! Felt compelled to ask for the manager and compliment him for my meal - something I very seldom do.

Good value for Ireland
Very clean and spacious room. Twin beds were comfortable. The view from our room was bad, out the back of the hotel, the only negative. Free parking, free internet and a good free breakfast. Within walking distance of town.

Comfortable Night's Stay
We stayed one night before a tour of the western part of Ireland. We arrived by train and the hotel was about a 10 minute walk from the station (same for bus arrival). We got there before the designated check in time and were able to drop our bags at the front desk so as not to have to carry them with us that morning while shopping. Breakfast was excellent, choice of fruits and cereals along with traditional Irish fare. Staff very friendly.
