Galway Harbour Hotel

The Galway Harbour Hotel is a good hotel with parking near almost everything in the tourist quarter of Galway. There is a nice walking path near the bay for strolling. Staff were really nice and professional and the food was good. I would gladly stay there again especially with the savings Cheap Tickets provided.

Nice hotel

After a transatlantic flight we arrived 6 hours before check in and were in bed within 20 minutes! The staff was more than accomodating and even loaned us 5 Euros for snacks because it was Sunday and no money changers were open. The car park was tight (and costs extra) and doubled as the scenic view from our room, switching from tub to shower was unfamiliar and the bathroom vent kept shutting off which made the whole room humid (windows only opened a tiny bit). Internet was intermittent and frustrating. The hotel was clean and inviting and we enjoyed the bar and restaurant. Location is very close to Quay street and shopping.

Excellent hotel, great location

The location is ideal for the kind of tourism I like: mainly walking. It is about 2-3 minutes walk to the pedestrian zone, but not itself on top of pubs (so it's quiet). Nice simple modern interiors, with all the necessary luxuries in the rooms. Do not, however, expect a nice view from your room. Internet access, and even a computer with free internet access in the lobby, so you can leave your laptop at home (as I did). Every morning a buffet style Irish breakfast (for me it was included in the price, I don't know if it always is); after such a breakfast you do not need to eat lunch. I ended up only eating early dinner. So you save twice: no lunch, and early bird specials for dinner.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Two walks that don't necessarily show up in guides to Galway: A short walk starting at the Spanish Arch, walking along the river. The path ends near the cathedral, so you cannot make it a long walk. A long walk, starting at the same place, cross the river, and follow the coast of the Bay. You can make this into quite a long walk, and it's beautiful. 45 minutes to reach the golf course.

Harbour Hotel Galway

Staff was helpful & friendly. Walking distance to shopping/dining. No air conditioning, can be noisy if window faces busy street.

Great value for money! New, clean

Great value for money! New, clean and very central located, close to all the main points of interest in town. Rooms ok, car safe in the parking area and free. Free internet for your laptop and works great. Breakfast included (which is a big deal in Ireland), but you have to ask the waiter for it. Swedish buffet woulkd be fast and easier to cope with.

翌朝アラン諸島へ行くため、ロッサヴィール港行きのバス停に近いこのホテルを選びました。部屋は清潔で、広めのシングルルーム＆バスルームはとても寛げました。朝食時にスタッフが、ひとつひとつテーブルをまわりながら、「今日の調子は？」と丁寧に声をかけていたのは好印象。
