cheap budget accomodation

We boyfriend and I stayed here for the Galway races, the reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. They informed us there was a free shuttle bus into town from reception. The rooms were very basic but clean. The room was en suite but sharing with another room (access from both room's). All doors were swipe access and although we were sharing an apartment with strangers it felt safe. Continental breakfast was included in our package providing cereal and toast, tea, coffee and a range of juices. We booked here as most accommodation was booked out due to the racing festival however, we were pleasantly surprised. Overall, the staff were friendly, the accommodation was basic but clean, perfect for the very little amount of time we were in the room and the budget price.

Campus stay

Staying on campus in student accommodation at NUI Galway. The location is great, breakfast was great. Only criticism is that the apartments are slightly dated decorwise. Could do with fresh painting and a bit of a spruce up. Kitchen/living area could do with a really deep clean. Would be hesitant using it, but we were only there one night so it didn't matter. Great idea and good value for money

Great for uni summer school

Perfect spot to stay while undertaking a summer school at the university. Very comfortable, great wifi, decent breakfast in the morning and easy access to laundry facilities and the uni. Issues with lack of places close by to eat - the nearest take away places were about a 15-20 minute walk and then to get into town was about 25-30 minute walk. After a long day of classes, just wanted to have something close by and get to my room some nights and that wasn't easy. The free shuttle was great when you could get on it and it finishes way too early.

As expected

When I saw "no frills," I went in with low expectations. They were met. I booked a room for a single bed and ended up with a full size bed, so that was a nice surprise. All I needed was internet access and a place to sleep, and I got both, so I was completely fine. However, if you're looking for something with amenities or something close to the pubs, this is not it.

WARNING: AVOID THIS PLACE BY ANY MEANS

Was offered a 6ft by 6ft dirty, dark cell. I am still reeling from astonishment.

Great Value, Good Service

The experience was great. Corrib Village is right next to the University and it has a complementary shuttle that runs into Downtown Galway several times each day. The rooms are about what you might expect for student housing, but they are clean and the staff brings new linens and towels every day. They were also very friendly and tolerant of stupid foreigner questions. Great value!

corrib village

It was a dormitory room, which was good sized, but about a 20 to 25 minute walk from city centre, shuttle only ran from noon to 7pm. Walking was not recommended at night. There was a public bus, but not sure how late it ran. It was hard to do any evening activities. breakfast was ok, but they promised scones and never had them, fruit was tinned. it was cheap, but not convenient. There was no where to get food in the late evening, everything closed at about 9.
