Old Ground Hotel

nice hotel but the room i stayed in was quite dated. im all for the charm but the room was ragged. the curtains had tears in them, and the paint looked rather old. breakfast was so-so. cleaning service was good and staff was very friendly. centrally located to town and surrounding attractions. internet did NOT work outside of lobby. very frustrating because they even admitted to knwoing that

We were dissapointed with this hotel. The location and food was good but the room was very dissapointing and in need of a revamp. There was a wedding on the first day we were there which is fine but there was no where for hotel guests to relax away from the noise of the wedding. While there is a small louge area marked as residents only this was not adhered to either on the saturday or the sunday. The noise on the saturday night meant that we got very little sleep. the noise was more from heavy closing doors which could surely be given soft closing pads to lower the constant noise levels.

Great hotel close to the shopping areas of town, really old area, They were having problems with their internet when we were there, never really got fixed, had to go to the lobby for access.Was a pain but overall, a fine hotel

The Old Ground Hotel is located in the center of Ennis allowing for easy access to shopping, restuarant and pubs. The rooms were small but comfortable.

The Old Ground Hotel is centrally located among the old world charm of Ennis. The hotel had a good breakfast and a lively pub which you could enjoy till the wee hours of the morning. Unfortunately, it is need of a serious rennovation. I had asked for one of the refurbished rooms and I know I was not given one. Since we were only staying for one night I did not argue. The room was dirty and small. I have traveled throughout Europe and am used to a smaller hotel room. However, small and dirty is unsettling. If you are traveling to Europe with the US $ in your pocket I would not recommend going until our dollar corrects against the Euro. In Euro's this room would have been tolerable. With the US exchange it was unacceptable.

We stayed only one night. The location was excellent and gave us a great start to the ambience of our first trip to Ireland. Rooms were ordinary and nothing extravagant.

What a great surprise! Located in the heart of the old downtown Ennis surrounded by historic buildings and shopping. Real old-world narrow streets and colorful pubs. Easy access to go out touring to the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren which are very close. Shannon Airport is close also. The hotel is well maintained, clean and the staff are great. Every one was friendly and helpful. The pub serves very good food and drink . Prices are very fair. I would stay here again in a minute!!!
