Comfortable hotel room

I found the room to be a good buy for the money the room was clean and the bed comfortable as well as having a large television. The hotel had a cafeteria style restaurant while I did not use it for dinner I found the breakfast to be a good buy for the money.I found the staff at the hotel to be friendly and knowledgeable.

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

The hotel was at least 5 miles from the city centre and a long walk to the bus stop which could be difficult for someone who has trouble walking . Also at night you would have to take a taxi back to the hotel since it is a long walk from the bus stop . There is a pub and restaurant however about 2 miles from the hotel . I would have prefered a hotel closer to the city centre however there was a championship football match in town as well as a visit by the Queen so there were no reasonably priced hotels in the centre of the city. The bus to the city centre does run quite often in the daytime and is a 20 minute ride to the city centre so it is doable as far as sightseeing in the daytime.

Nothing Special

Some friends and I went for a vacation and the Castleknock was our first hotel in Dublin. The hotel itself was alright, nothing special, however it was right along a busy highway. One of the things that they advertise is being close to city centre which, I assumed, meant that I could walk. But, like I said, it was on a busy highway with no sidewalks so I thought that it was a little misleading. The hotel is right on a bus line, which was good. But you need exact change to use it and the hotel can't make change for you. When we got to the hotel, the staff couldn't find our reservation and almost sent us on our way or made us pay for another room when I had already paid in full for one. In order to prove to them that we had one I had to pay to use their internet to get onto my email and show it to them and they never offered to reimburse me for the internet fee after they agreed that I did have a reservation after all. I was not impressed with the customer service at all. I will not be recommending this hotel to anyone.

Cheap and nice!

All in all it was a nice stay. Totally missed the entrance the first drive by, but I am associating that with learning how to drive on the other side of the road. Room was clean, and staff was very friendly.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

There's a bus station around the corner and down Navan Road, there's also one across the Roundabout for the return trip.
