Rich surroundings in the Irish capital
The facade of The Westin Dublin only hints at the grandiose interior of this former 19th century bank turned five-star hotel. Opposite Trinity College in the center of the city, the hotel takes up an entire block of prime real estate. The location affords beautiful views over the grounds of the old college from many rooms, but guests need not venture outdoors to experience history and stunning scenery. From the wood and marble lobby to the frescoed walls of the Exchange Restaurant, this hotel exudes luxury.

Rooms

Classic guest rooms in the 168-room Westin Dublin overlook the glass roof of the lounge, while many of the deluxe rooms look out over the city. Library suites named after Irish writers feature separate living room and study. The College Suite, a split-level penthouse with balcony, offers magnificent views. Features

The Exchange Restaurant offers an intimate, relaxing dining experience in a room decorated with attractive Art Deco murals. The hotel has a 24-hour gym and in-room spa services. Great location

You could not ask for a better location in downtown Dublin. You had easy access to everything. The staff was extremely helpful! (From the font desk to the oncierge) The only complaints we had were the high charges for Internet access and parking. We stayed at five other hotels in Ireland and thy ll had free WiFi and free parking. As a matter of fact, WiFi is free just about everywhere... Pubs, restaurants, etc.

Great Hotel Except..

This hotel was great except when we tried to fill the tub with water, the water would be brown at times even when we ran it for a few minutes. It didn't happen in the sink or in the shower, so we just didn't use the tub. Otherwise, the concierge and the reception were great hosts, the hotel is in a very convenient location.

The Best Location

My gosh, everything you want in Dublin is extremely near this location. THE best location. All the staff were extremely helpful and nice. The room was very nice as were the bathrooms, though I'm not convinced the room was as advertised, with regards to a "heavenly bed". Also, I'm not convinced that a 5 star rating is warranted; maybe 4 stars. Nonetheless, it was very nice, allbeit pricey at $272 per night for what we recieved. All in all, if you have the money, this is a very nice place to stay.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

The Temple Bar, Hardrock Cafe and a whole host of other pubs and eating establishments are right across the street. Shopping on Grafton Street is a real short walk.

Location, location, location and more!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Westin Dublin! The hotel staff was very nice, attentive and helpful and timely filled all our requests. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The food was also very good. The location could not have been better--smack right next to Trinity College, Grafton Street and Temple Bar. All the best pubs, restaurants and shopping venues were very close to the hotel. Would stay there again!

Very nice stay

My mom and I were vacationing in Dublin and the location of the Westin can't be beat. It is withing walking distance of everything and the concierge was very helpful in planning day trips outside of Dublin for us. The hotel itself was beautiful with very friendly and professional staff. We particularly enjoyed having tea in the Atrium restaurant. Although I would stay here again in a heartbeat, I do wish that the hotel provided complimentary wi-fi and allowed early check-ins (arrive in Dublin at 6am and not being able to check-in until 1pm wasn't fun!). I would recommend!

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

Have the concierge arrange a day trip to the Cliffs of Moher. The travel time is long (over 2 hours, but very scenic) but totally worth it!

Friendly Hotel

What makes this hotel special, in addition to the excellent location in the city centre, is the exceptionally helpful staff. We were there for a week, and every day we relied on the staff for directions and assistance. They were without exception courteous and conscientious. They lent my wife a step-down trasnformer for her U.S.-made hair curlers, gave us directions, booked reservations for a play, and gave us many good tips on where to go and what to see. [...], the doorman, was a goldmine of information.

Bewley's Oriental Cafe on Grafton Street is a charming place with lovely decor and good food at a reasonable price. It's just a five-minute walk from the Westin.

Location, location, location!

It was our second hotel on the trip and we loved everything inlcuding value, except when it came to incidentals which were a little pricey. Value is in fair room rates, and the quality of service is typical of Irish hospitality, meaning outstanding. Safe, clean city...this is a very centralized place to stay.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

Ask doorman, front desk, etc. where they would go for a drink after work...now you know where locals go! Tourist spots are nice and NOT traps, but very crowded and crowd can lack local color. Amused how so many said "can't walk to it." In reality nothing was "that far." Get a freedom pass on "Hop On Hope Off" bus, which includes airport transportation.

PERFECT location in City Center

Perfect location across from Trinity College, super staff, reasonable (off-season) rate. Clean, comfortable room, except for the shower! I'm 6-3, and my head hit the ceiling when standing in the tub!
