Forget taxis to/from hotel. Get a coach from the airport - it stops immediately outside hotel, pick-up is directly across the road and runs every 15 mins (cost 7 euros each way).

Loved it

Stayed in the Gresham Sudnay 27t April. On arrival the receptionist was very helpfefull, expecially when i asked for a room facing O'Connell Street. My room was on the 1st floor, was quite big and newly refurbished. Beds were comfortable and had a great nights sleep. Had all the little extras in the bathroom that can be so easily forgotten. It also had the dressing gowns and slippers, nice touch. My only fault for the room, was the hairdryer, i like hairdryers to have a nozzle, but it still did the job, so not too big an issue. The Gresham has the pefect location, right in O'Connell Street, really handy for everything. I will definitely be back and stay longer next time!

Average!

The hotel was nice, though very old. A number of family stayed here and all of the rooms were different. My room was huge, but had no AC and it was hot :(. This was probably the worst part of the stay, though we were given a fan, but had to leave the windows wide open (with no screens), causing bugs to fly in. My brothers room had an AC but was so small you could barely open the door and walk through with your luggage. The rooms were fortunately kept clean, though many channels on the TV did not work. The location is probably its best attribute, right in the heart of Dublin, a nice walking distance to Temple Bar and Graffton Street. Some of the staff and bartenders were very nice and friendly as well, and the lobby and bar area were very pretty. Unfortunately the drinks were pricey & durin late hours when there was no food service, you were not allowed to bring outside food in. Overall, the hotel served its purpose and the rooms were clean,

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

The hop on/hop off bus is definitely something all visitors should do. Go to the jail first, as tours book up quickly and it is definitely worth seeing! The Jameson brewery is another great tour and everyone enjoyed the Guinness tour, though Jameson was better. Definitely go for a walk around Graffton street and do some shopping; you never know what performers you will find!

Sore toes

Upon check in our room was not ready and we had to wait. Then the room we were given was the smallest we had while in Ireland on a 10 day trip. While I was taking a shower the control knob for the shower fell off and hit my toes. I had a hard time walking. I called the manager to report this and they really did nothing to help. When I asked to be moved to a room with a properly working shower knob they acted put out. They did bring me some ice to use for my swollen toes but it really ruined the rest of our stay having a sore foot. The shower also had tile missing and the floor tile was loose and actually came all the way off. I would not recommend this hotel while in Dublin.

Great value, great location

The hotel was modern, rooms and bathroom seemed newly renovated and spacious. Location was very good on a main street (O'Connell Street) within easy walking distance of all tourist attractions and lots of restaurants, shopping, etc.
