Don't go there

Unless you are determined to stay right in the centre if temple bar. That is the hotels only redeeming feature. Olld and tired. Room service was slack with missing cutlery and crockery and an extra breakfast that we didn't order. Reception staff were charming but also slack as they forgot to take credit card details. Upon arrival so we ended up paying each time we ordered. Buskers bar was fun with great musicians, but you don't need to stay in the hotel for that. There are lots of other good hotels.. Look around!

Less than stellar

The wifi will not work with Apple devices and frequently becomes overloaded and will not accept any device. The noise levels are bad and unless your in college on spring break, there is no reason to stay at this hotel. The rooms are the size of a closet, it's impossible to shower without soaking the bathroom floor and the wireless doesn't work. God help you if you miss the cryptic power card slot, as you won't be able to turn the lights on and nothing works. [...]if you want to stay near Fleet Street go to the westin or any other property.

Poor Customer Service, Deceptive costs

I booked a room for August 28th 2014. 13 months in advance. Temple Bar has charged me the full amount in advance. This was not made clear on the reservation. While making the reservation the reservation stated must be cancelled within 48 hours of arrival or 1 nights stay charged. Well they charged my entire stay of $1300 13 months in advance. This was a surprise to me. I contacted reservations who said not only do they charge in advance for this rate but it is non-refundable. I explain this wasnt clear, stating that it clearly says I can cancel within 48 hours. A manager contacts me back and says, sorry that is the policy. So they have taken $1300 from me 13 months in advance of a stay and wont let me cancel it. Very misleading booking practice. Very inconsiderate management. Would you want to stay at a hotel that treats their customers like this? Not good customer service. Horrible management. Stay away or risk being swindled.

Could have been better

The location was excellent, right on the edge of Temple Bar. It was a bit noisy, but worth it. The lobby is beautiful. The staff is wonderful and personable. The rooms look like they were last updated in the 1950s. A king bed is 2 twin beds pushed together and one of mine was broken and the shower curtain was stained. The heat turns off with the electricity when you take your key to leave the room so it can be quite cold in the evenings. I paid the extra €8 for breakfast and ended up with hard, rubbery eggs, bread (no toaster), and ham. When I asked for tea they gave me a pot of burnt coffee.

Crowded Inn at Temple Bar

Overall not a bad. The only problem was that the room was so small that you would have to sit on the bed to use the desk. The desk and bed were parallel. The desk is a waste of space, get rid of it and make the room livable. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

Overall OK

Overall, the hotel was good value for the price. The location was excellent. The lobby was very nice. The room, on the other hand, was just ok. The room was small, but definitely dated. It just seemed old. Definitely good enough for a single traveler, but not good ideal for a family or multiple people.
