Perfect, would recommend

This hotel was perfect for our first stay in Dublin. It was easy to get too from the airport, just catch one of the shuttle buses and get off at trinity college (about 30-35 mins). The Hotel is about as central as you could possibly wish for and surrounded by bars and places to eat, as well as a tesco metro opposite if you want to grab something quick. The staff were friendly and the rooms clean and comfortable.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

It would have worked out cheaper for us if we had purchased a dublin pass. it allows free entrance into 33 attractions. google it, or look on the visit dublin site.

Temple Bar Hotel

This hotel is centrally located in downtown Dublin in the Temple Bar area. It is very easy to walk to many of the sites you will want to see from this hotel. There is a currency exchange about a block away and a grocery store directly across the street. One of the Irish Tourism Offices is about two blocks away and the other is about another block and a half. One thing you should know is that this area is very noisy due to the Temple Bar area being full of nightclubs, etc. The bars let out at 2 or 3 in the morning and it seems you are awakened by yelling very frequently. If you stay here, I suggest that you bring ear plugs. The people and the staff at the hotel are fantastic. They worked with me and I extended my stay several times during the week I was in Dublin. The hop on, hop off tourist buses are about two blocks away from the hotel and are easy to get to when you want to do tours of the city. The tours, if I remember correctly, run about 16 Euros and allow you to ride the tour buses for two days at that rate.

Dublin Fun

The hotel was in a great location. Tons of pubs and places to eat only a short walk away. Nice place but I can't get used to the small Euro beds.

Good location, not the biggest rooms

The hotel is right by the temple bar area making it perfect if you want to explore the night life in Dublin. Also walking distance to both north and south side of Dublin. The room was good, nothing spectacular. Not the biggest one I have stayed at and the TV was small but otherwise no problems. Free WiFi was a big plus. Had a grocerie store right across the street which made it convenient to get breakfast in the morning. Comfortable beds, slept like a log all nights.

Couldn't ask for a better location

My husband and I went our our first trip to Dublin, Ireland and were interested in a centrally located hotel. What we found couldn't have been better! We were right in the center of everything. The Temple Bar was not even 1 minute from our hotel. Amazing! We were interested in a budget hotel and this was a great price. We'd definitely stay there again if going to Dublin.

Hotel is amazing if you're interested in all of the tourist-y stuff. But, it's also located very close to pubs that the locals visit.

good location for the price

the location is located in the middle of the town. easy to get around to any local areas you might want to visit. The hotel was convenient and i dont have any complaints. the room was clean at all times and the staff were helpful. we had no phone for like 2 days but they try to fix it right away. they were helpful with the wake up calls/taxis/directions/etc. the location was near the buses (if you took the paddywagon tours) and/or trains. it wasn't as noisy as i thought it would be at night as some previous reviews i had read. If you are there for an adventure its a good place to start..if you are looking for a quite/romantic vacation it might not be the best option. Overall i think this is a good hotel.

Dining tip: Long walk from hotel

it's better off to walk a few blocks out of temple bar area to get good meals at a better price. also, if you stay on temple area you will find mostly tourist...if you actually want to feel like you are in ireland i recomend walking a few blocks away to other small bars.
