Great place!

I spent 4 nights here and loved it. The room was very clean, and the staff was wonderful. I loved being able to have complimentary tea, homemade cookies and cakes at any time of day and night. The hotel is situated in an area close to many attractions and easy access to many others.

Sweet Spot

The Pembroke Townhouse was true to its description of being in a nice neighborhood within walking distance of shops and restaurants. In fact, I could walk all the way into downtown Dublin with good walking shoes. The staff were polite and informative. The hotel was near bus lines (in case you didn't bring good walking shoes) and a variety of restaurants. The neighborhood was quite around the hotel. The townhouse was in one of the classic "Georgian" buildings and it was great fun to stay in a point of history. The beds were a little too soft for my liking but the room was sparking clean and well maintained. The common guest area was nicely decorated and had a fire place. Coffee and tea were available all the time as were delicious short bread cookies (known as "biscuits"). I loved my stay. I felt very much at home.

Nothing to do with the hotel...the street sings in Dublin are high on the corners of buildings or low or not there at all so the map the hotel provides is VERY useful if you are walking.

One night getaway for concert

We stayed here for a concert at the O2. Location was fine. Room was very small but clean. Shower was great. Lighting not v good for makeup. Didn't have breakfast but tea and cookies were good in room opposite reception. Small hotel.

Very nice hotel

Breakfasts were excellent! Rooms are on the small side but very comfortable, very clean, and well kept. We visited Dublin during the hottest period since 1976. Unfortunately, Pembroke is not airconditioned and they had too few fans. Halfway through our stay, another guest checked out and we were able to obtain a fan which made the nights much more comfortable. Although wifi was available, it wasn't complementary so I purchased three 24 hour vouchers to cover our stay. At the time, I thought the price was too high but later found out that 24 hours was for cumulative use rather than for 24-hour periods. After asking for help with a connection issue I was having, the receptionist refunded one voucher and I kept the second one for my wife since a voucher only works for a single device and my wife and I both had our own devices. I never exceeded the 24 hours during the four night stay. The location was ideal for us. The hotel is walkable to the city center at about 1.5 miles. In my opinion, the location is in the best part of town next to stately embassies and very close to Herbert Park which is very nice to walk, sit, and people watch. We made much use of the complementary, gated and secure parking for our rental car which was very convenient for us since the bus system was confusing and hard to figure out. When we first arrived, the parking lot was hard to find since it was in a small alley behind the hotel and the signs were obscured by cars parked on either side of the entrance - Pembroke really should raise the height of the signs since the neighbors get knocks on the door all the time. We liked their common room where we could make ourselves a cup of coffee, help ourselves to a few shortcake biscuits, and meet family prior to heading out for the day. Although my key was large and heavy, the receptionist let us leave it at the desk and pick it up upon return. We'd definitely stay at Pembroke Townhouse again.
