Dublin Birthday Week end Bash

Have stayed in OCallaghan hotels before always a great value. The Davenport has the charm of early Dublin. The dark woods and rich colors are rich. The beds are very comfortable. The bathrooms with pedestal sink was spacious and the shower had a good water pressure. The breakfast room had a good variety of foods and hot food was hot!! The President's Bar served good food and a strong drink . Staff were welcoming, friendly and a good resource for finding local activities. The room was quiet. There was a lot of construction going on in and around Grafton Street so the advantage of this location was that it was well within walking distance to Trinity College at the top of Grafton, Pearce station was just around the corner a block away. Didn't spend daytime there as we were out and about, but would reccomend staying there. Enjoy!!

Special Birthday Celebration

Fabulous weekend from start to finish the hotel and its location added to the overall experience. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly nothing seemed to much trouble for them and our room was ready when we arrived at 10am. The room was booked for 3 and was a great sized room with good facilities. We'd certainly use this hotel again.

Great Vacation

The hotel is very nice and the staff was very helful and friendly. The only criticism I have is that the hot and cold water faucets are separate and that makes it difficult to wash hands and face, but it seemed to be that way in a lot of places in Ireland. Also, the parking is not very close and costs. On the whole though, I reccomend this hotel - good location and very nice!

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

Do not rent a car in Dublin! If you need one to travel outside of Dublin, ok, but save your money! We got taken with the cost of the car insurance and it is VERY difficult to drive in Dublin - windy one way streets! And don't forget, they drive on the other side - walk instead - it's a definite time saver as well as not nearly as stressful.

vey pleasant stay

The Hotel have spacious rooms and friendly staff. The Breakfast was good. I didn't quite understand that one doesn't get breakfast included on the departure day as in most other hotels the arrival day is counted as an overnight without breakfast and the last day (check-out)is included. We had to buy our breakfast and that should be told to the guest beforehand. Otherwise, we were pleased with the Hotel and its location which is very center.

Great service!

My stay at the Davenport was great! The rooms were comfortable and large compared to other European hotels that I have stayed in. Also the beds were very comfortable. The service was excellent. I became very ill during my stay and the hotel had a house doctor that they were able to call, and he came right to the room. After that the staff were very gracious and accommodating with finding the closest pharmacies and such. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to any traveller!

I would recommend visiting the Powerscout House and Gardens. It is located in the Wicklow Mountains about 30 minutes from Dublin. The house is gorgeous, the gardens exquisite and the food superb.

O'Callaghan

Decent location, doors lock at night so be sure to locate the call button, compared to the burlington that I switched from I'd say five stars, try the room service, and loved the weight room

Don't stick to the Temple bar area, venture over the walking bridges and find ethnic pubs like Czech In or Woodsheds

Travelled with friends. Checked out temple bar and other tourist attractions. The hotel was nice, clean but a little bit of walk (10min) to the centre of the city.

I'd stay again with no problem.

Arrived 3 hours before check-in and a room was available. Stayed for 2 nights and encountered no problems. Staff was helpful. They even let us keep our bags for a couple of hours after check-out. I'd stay here again.

Good location and great staff

Location was good for walking to restauants and shopping. Checkin and out were efficient and messages were delivered in a timely manner. The front desk staff was very helpful in finding another reservation for later in the week. They were interested in how we were getting around the country and offered suggestions for the best prices on things. I would recommend this hotel to others.
