Dining

This charming Dublin restaurant is named after a famous architect, Sir Charles Lanyon. Like the historic faade of this Dublin hotel, Lanyons exudes an old world, traditional charm. This is a very stylish restaurant, serving top class international cuisine. A real favourite among local Dubliners.
Bar
Presidents Bar is a very popular choice to relax and enjoy a drink from the bar or a snack from bar menu available all day.

Great Vacation

The hotel is very nice and the staff was very helful and friendly. The only criticism I have is that the hot and cold water faucets are separate and that makes it difficult to wash hands and face, but it seemed to be that way in a lot of places in Ireland. Also, the parking is not very close and costs. On the whole though, I reccomend this hotel - good location and very nice!

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

Do not rent a car in Dublin! If you need one to travel outside of Dublin, ok, but save your money! We got taken with the cost of the car insurance and it is VERY difficult to drive in Dublin - windy one way streets! And don't forget, they drive on the other side - walk instead - it's a definite time saver as well as not nearly as stressful.

Fun weekend in Dublin, but...

Staff was great, very friendly and helpful; especially in helping sign up for the PAID wifi which was problematic, expensive, and very slow :( Not their fault. That's on management! Management: Offer free, competitively-performing wifi if you want more goodwill -- your staff is working hard to cultivate it; what are you doing to help them? That's the question a leader asks.

Adequate hotel with some good staff

The hotel is centrally located and most of the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. I did encounter one rude friend desk clerk but this was made up by another front desk staff who went out of his way to help us book theater tickets.

Dublin virgins

A lovely well furnished hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms were large, huge beds, table, chairs coffee making, tv, and large sliding wardrobes . Bathroom clean and spacious, with hairdryer, mirrors and toiletries. Ordered room service on one evening and was surprised with the size of portions and time it took. The breakfast was a variety of choice, cooked, pastries, fruits, meats, cereals and juices. Only negative was that for the price I feel breakfast should have been included in the cost and not to be paid for extra.

Super Hotel

We just loved this hotel. We started our bus tour here and wish all had been so near places and had the classiness this one had. They don't have a pool but we were not looking for things like that. We were near Trinity College, and all other places we wanted to see in Dublin. Bus was a few feet away. Two pubs nearby, Kennedy and Ginger Man had GREAT food. Would love to stay there again. Helpful staff.

old classy hotel

The hotel has an old classy charm in its appearance, and the staffs were very polite, classy, and pleasant. One thing I found very annoying was the faucets in the bathroom, which consist of two separate outlets for cold water and hot water, and they were far apart, so it was not possible to adjust the water temperature. (unless you mix hot water and cold water in the basin) Because the hot water was too. hot, and I didn't want to use water trapped in the basin, I ended up using only the cold water which was darn too cold. Other than the separate faucet piping problem, the rest was good. I liked the bed & bedding, and the breakfast buffet was pretty good. The options for room service is very limited, but the food tasted very good.

Great location, needs some work

A short walk to Trinity College and many other sights. That's the best thing. The rooms themselves need updating. Cleanliness can be stepped up (had to call to have sheets changed) Water pressure in shower great -- but where are the washcloths? Bed is extremely firm. I like to wind down at night by watching a little tv. Half the stations listed were not available. And although it was a flat screen -- no high def.
