A nice stay

The staff was friendly but the rooms were fairly small. This hotel offers the basics but doesn't have any extra frills. The location is good, though. If you are looking to stay in downtown Dublin and are not pickly it is a good deal.

Great stay!

Only minutes walking distance from Trinity College, Temple Bar, and just a few blocks down the road from Dublin's Spire (where both hop-on hop-off bus tours start). Wouldn't have paid the regular hotel rate shown on their website but got a great deal online and chose it based on location. Rooms were great: clean, quiet, and all staff members were vey friendly. Wifi was not free and charges were so expensive we didn't use it (3.50 euro/hour) but there are enough places around town with free wifi we hardly noticed. We took the hop-on hop-off bus tours (which the hotel offered to guests at a discounted rate) and had a great time, it's an easy way to get around town since taxis are so expensive. Overall loved Dublin and would reccommend the North Star to all travelers.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

The hop on hop off tour buses only run untilnout 5 in the winter and maybe 6:30 in the summer, but the yellow city buses run much later and most will take you back to city center for only 1.60 euro.

homey

Nice clean hotel, where good staff takes care of you. The rooms are spacious, quiet and clean. Near to city centre and temple bar, and also near to the O2 arena if you going to concert. We did not book breakfast but we paid at the reception for it, we got vouchers and it was a good move: the breakfast was fantastic. A lovely hotel.

a nice hotel

This hotel is fantastic. Has a great location near to the trains, dart, buses and city centre. There are all with in walking distance. Me and my wife, had dinner in Bianconi restaurant, the food was delicious and the waiter very professional. The staff in general is nice, they offer to cary our bags from the lobby to the reception. The rooms are clean and quiet (we slept in the executive side). There is a rail trak crossing over the reception bat is away from the executive and premier rooms, if you stay in the standard side you may hear it. To us was a good experience, we will come back and definitely we recomand the hotel.

Clean and good value

The location is directly across from Connolly Station which starts at 6.00 am and stops at 10.00 pm. This was noticeable at first and then we got used to it. With the window open though we noticed workmen sledgehammering in the wee hours!! Maybe in the summer with air conditioning this would be masked but we lost sleep over it in April.

Dining tip: Long walk from hotel

We walked all over Dublin. Thornton's restaurant is at the top of Grafton Street across from St Stephen's Green. We had a pre priced lunch with three courses that was 5 star. The service was excellent and we frankly preferred it to Chapter One where we ate also.
